DeMarcus Cousins: All NBA

Complete and total BS and yet sadly, so predictable. But you know what? Josh Donaldson was left out of the All-Star game last year and this year he's the best player in baseball and the A's are leading the league in practically every category. Great players take that disrespect and run with it and that's who Cousins is. He's been disrespected so many times in the past year -- USA basketball, All-Star game, All-NBA teams. He's still the most talented guy in the league at his position and he's barely coming into his own. Howard, Jefferson, and Noah better be on alert next season whenever they play the Kings.

DeMarcus is pissed and rightly so. Watch him come back stronger. Only way to get these clowns to recognise him is to force their hand. Hopefully we make progress this year towards .500 and big Cuz dominates to the tune of 26/12.

As most of us expected, he was going to be snubbed. It's too bad he got snubbed out of all nba and his first all-star appearance. The best thing to do is use this as motivation and become even more dominant than he's shown he can be.

According to that logic Monta Ellis/Wes Mattew's/Klay Thompson/Aaron Afflalo should have got in over Harden for All NBA. Plus Cousins plays way more D than than Harden. Either way I called that Jefferson would get in over him, the media will never give Cousins his due until he's in the playoffs playing well imo.

Jefferson? Al Jefferson?
You can't really be harsh towards Al Jefferson guy had a excellent season and like Cousins has been snubbed plenty of times in his career. Who deserves it more this year maybe Cousins did but Big Al helped turn around the Bobcats even if it were in the East.

Obviously Cousins is a better player (by a good margin imo) but the award is who had the best season and that unlike the who is the player debate it's somewhat close.

I don't know. Take these "reporters" put them as coaches with money and job on the line with a choice of there top big being Jefferson or Cousins. I think their minds might change. Better yet let it be a team led by cousins vs a team led by Jefferson.

Boogie's time will come.

Dude just isnt going to get any recognition while we are a **** team. He just needs to keep doing what he's doing and hopefully PDA will tinker up an actual team next season.

Still sucks though.

Not making any of the All Nba teams is ok, since the whole team success thing is a big deal. What I fail to grasp is that he wasn't even close. 14 f'n total points. I'm angry about it and I can only imagine how pissed off he is. I feel bad for all those who have to face him next season.

There is danger danger Will Robinson in those statements, which are accurate I think. I've been saying we're running out of time, and these snubs are just accelerating the sands falling through the hourglass. Imagine what Cousins' mindset will be if we're here next year having this same thread. Play time is over.

Same here. I see no scandal with Noah/Howard/Jefferson making the all-nba teams. IMO they deserve it even if DMC is more talented than those three.
But I'm really pissed with DeAndre Jordan, Hibbert and Pau Gasol getting more votes than DeMarcus...

Reading through Jason jones twitter feed after that comment is funny.

Having a little hissy meltdown and saying to fans "you should be worried about 28 wins"

Who does this dude think he is.

Go and cover the lakers man.

Those votes are quite an indictment on the talent surrounding Cuz.

That's a large part of these clowns not giving him votes. Not nearly enough fitting talent, hence we suck.

Yah I worry about that too... It might convince him to go somewhere where he would be noticed more so than he is now.

Amick and Jones have no idea what they are talking about.

Its going to take a while for Boogie to shed his reputation nationwide, unfortunately. Its not going to happen in one year. Its certainly not going to happen in a 28 win season.

Its interesting, however, that one of the knocks on Cousins is that he's a poor defender. And yet anybody watching the Kings with a modicum of competence could see the massive improvements Cousins made on the defensive end this year. I will note that LeBron James was also criticized for being a lackadaisical defender early in his career before it was our own Mike Malone who convinced him to round out his game on both ends. Now LeBron is regularly making All-Defensive teams.

There's no reason Cousins shouldn't be the best defensive center in the NBA. He's got great length, he's got strength, he's got quick feet, and his charge-taking ability show's he's got excellent anticipation ability. Exactly what separates him from Marc Gasol, Roy Hibbert and Andrew Bogut, who are slower and have less length? Guys like Joakim Noah and DeAndre Jordan are pogo stick athletes, but even they lack Cousins' great length and tend to get worked over in the post.

More than anything else, I hope Cousins comes back next year with a renewed focus on the defensive end of the ball to become a true defensive anchor. Malone has the chops to tap into that potential. Its time to start seeing results.

Maybe the national media is full off idiots, or maybe the results show the bias this board has for DMC. Ya'll realize that there is nowhere on the planet or cyber-space that holds DMC in higher esteem than right here at Kingsfans.com, right? - (with the notable exception of his mom's house)

I wonder why that is... Could it be that we see him dominate other "elite" bigs multiple times a week, while most fans of other teams just go by the old, tired and rehashed national media narrative?

Really? Bias? I think WE are the only ones that really know what he's capable off and the national media are a bunch of grudge holding idiots. They hear he's a bad seed in college so they ignore everything he does and continue to keep that bad seed above his head.

He has the best stats of any center in the league, and you replace Howard with Cousins and the Rockets are most likely better. You replace Jefferson with Cousins and Charlotte is better... It's not his fault he's on a bad team, but saying we are bias towards a center who has the best stats in the league because he plays for us is 100% incorrect...

At least I know that Jason Jones and Sam Amick read what I was writing to them because they both replied to me. Now I am just trolling them into saying something they might regret :) Jason Jones just came off and said "So everyone who agreed with me is wrong as well?".. Yah... Basically, yes...

This has become very old. It's an individual award that has somehow become dependent on team success. How are we measuring the "makes his teammates better" quality? Wins? Are the kings a much better team with any other center? If that's the case then does every team with a greater number of wins have a better center than Demarcus Cousins? The award is meaningless if it's being given out under these terms by these people. I wouldn't sweat this. Why do sports writers decide this? It's as absurd as fans voting for the all star team. I don't value the input of any of these people.
