Defensive big for cheap?

You can bet your bottom dollar that we will add Darnell Jackson to the roster as our 5th big. He is a stumpy "big" who does not play D so he fits perfectly into the direction that we are going in.

Petrie: We wanted to add a big that played D and blocked shots. So ... we signed D-block. :)

Jon Santiago:I did see members of #NBAKings front office (Mike Petrie & Shareef Abdur Rahim) scouting the Wizards/Grizzlies game at Cox Pavilion.yesterday

Jan Vesely? Trade our 1 yr bust Jimmer(backup guard) for Wizards 6'11" 1 yr bust for our 5th Big?

Or multiple bodies being moved with this as part of it. Thornton is our major trade bait as far as I'm concerned. I suppose if you are going to have too many players at one position, it might as well be at a position where the players are tall. Or maybe at this point they are simply scouting other teams to see who to invite to camp. We have one spot open on the team and can invite a few others to camp. I would expect Petrie to be attending all games.

In any case, I think the Maloofs got the message that they can't get revenue sharing by sitting on their butt and not trying to improve the team. Yeah, Stern.

well I checked both of them will not work but either one individually will work
maybe throw in a 2nd rd pick?

Fredette insisted that he didn't play with any added motivation because of the team's decision to add another point guard to the mix, even if it does put him behind Brooks and Isaiah Thomas entering next season and qualify as the latest setback to an already frustrating start to his career. The obvious impact of the move could be spotted in the stands Monday during the Kings game, where Fredette's agent, Jeff Austin, was seen discussing the unexpected situation with Geoff Petrie, Sacramento's president of basketball operations, for nearly a half hour. hmmm was this before or after Geoff went to the Wizards/Grizz game? LOL

I really feel there is going to be a Jimmer Trade - hopefully for our 5th defensive cheap big

I feel Petrie will be meeting with a number of our players agents this coming season who aren't at all thrilled about how their clients are being used. I'd expect Reke's agent back in town. I'd expect MT's agent in town at some point. I'd expect Salmons' agent in town when he's barely getting any playing time and has a few years left to contribute in the right role for a playoff team instead of rotting on our bench. He could help a playoff team as a backup SG, easily. I'd expect Cuz's agent to not be all that happy if he's watching IT/Brooks/Reke/MT jack up shots repeatedly with no apparent plan to run an actual offense centered around him.

This season will be ugly. Our FO has failed both the fans and the players once again, and this time I doubt it's kept under wraps. Especially when Smart starts swapping entire lineups and only playing the starters 25-32 mins a game.

I think a few players were signed as starters and didn't pan out. Whether they should have panned out is a moot point at this point.

No doubt agents will be chatting with Petrie. That's not all bad as some agents will get on the phone and work out trades. We HAVE to trade some of our bench players.

Yep!

We were in an incredible position at the end of the 2010-2011 season. We had a good young core coming through together. A good 3 big men rotation and a good 3 guard rotation which all complemented one another. On top of that, we had another lottery pick and most money freed up in the salary cap and needed to re-sign our own key free agents, draft another good youngster and sign a couple of good veterans, one of them to address that SF position.

Look at things today and we have managed to make one bad move after the other, blow up the whole cap space on players that have not improved us in any way shape or form. On top of that we have hired yet another coach without structure or consistency where players are played out of position and get inconsistent minutes and roles.

Good franchises make the most out of the situation we were in, bad ones pee it all into the wind. Its pretty clear which category we fall into and its depressing.

You had me until the Cousins comment and then went off the deep end. As if Cousins didn't get enough shots last year. He was throwing up everything in site.
