David Stern Does it AGAIN!!!

kingsofnba

G-League
it seems that there is always an IT team that david stern is trying to promote... it has been the lakers the past 5-6years and now it is the Suns and Spurs... two teams that the refs show OBVIOUS BIAS toward game in and game out... come on stern... now that the lakers suck and are beyond repair, he has chosen his new IT teams, the Suns and Spurs...

the kings were at home, we are supposed to get the calls at home... and the refs continue to screw the kings royally... the ball was clearly on its way down when stodemaire goaltended millers shot... that wasn't even close... the nba refs are worse than pro wrestling refs with their calls!!!!... refs just turn a blind eye on game changing shots when it helps the leagues poster child team win ... disgusting!!!!!

don't worry the refs get in trouble for bad missed calls...especially if its at the end of the game..they'll review it

im taking some solace in that fact

Nothing will really come of it, nothing ever does. As many bad calls as Dick Bavetta has made over the years the fact remains he still has a job and it still assigned some of the biggest games to officiate. The NFL actually reprimands its officials and will fire them for blown calls in important situations. The NBA basically says "oh oh we'll take care of this" then waves their hands and keeps it silent.

One problem is that the sports media is afraid to talk about it and that has to do with the media being a "me too" buddy-buddy wolf pack. Most anyone in the media is afraid to deviate from the standards even if those standards are wrong. Most of sports media turns their head away from their own thinly veiled racism, the issue of officiating in leagues like the NBA and NHL, but instead pisses and moans over whether they can call a second tier team like the Patriots a 'Dynasy'. It's incredibly moronic. They waste time on topics that hardly a person will care about 30 years from now and ignore the sort of issues that history will remember.

well said!!

I'd like to see an aerial view of that block to be sure if it was a goaltend. Even if it was, if you expect the refs to make that call in the final seconds, you haven't been watching the NBA for long.

Bad calls happen TO ALL TEAMS. Obviously we notice it most becuase we watch all the KINGS games.

There is no motive for Stern. In fact if you wanted to argue that point from a biz sense wouldn't you think Stern would want the Kings to win to help there chances even more of getting a new arena?

This is gonna be rough until Thursdays game. EVERYONE CALM DOWN! It's one game.

what i expect is professional officiating, not some WWF style that david stern seems to like.

YOU MAKE A CALL LIKE THAT IT WASN'T A FOUL.i CAN SEE IF IT WAS A FOUL BUT WHEN HE GOT THE BALL IT SEEMED LIKE A CLEAR LAYUP AN HE IS RIGHT UNDER THE BASKET.YO UDON'T EVEN NEED A RULE BOOK TO MAKE THAT CALL.THAT IS EVEN A PLAYGROUND CALL THAT IS MADE. TERRIBLE CALL

Like I said, don't expect refs to make big calls like that in the final seconds of games. They occasionally do, but not often.

Have any of you seen an aerial view of the layup, btw? I only saw the standard angle one time. Couldn't tell if any of the ball was over the cylinder. That's the standard for a goaltend on a layup.

Don't expect that either. ;) Professional officiating died out with the mid-90s plane ticket scandal. Most of the decent old guard are retired.

I have to agree with GARG here. As much as the call sucked I wouldn't expect a ref/ump/whatever make a game winning call. Nascar may be the only sport that you really see that happen in (yellow flag).

DID I JUST CALL NASCAR A SPORT? Shoot me now!

Just saying "yeah the refs normally don't follow the rules" doesn't really help anything.

Neither will complaining about something that ain't gonna change. Tough loss tonight. My team's had 2 of those against Phx this year so you have my sympathies even if they're unrequited. The Suns are both good and lucky. That's a hard combination to beat.

It wouldn't have been a game winning call.

Calling the goaltend would have just gotten the game into overtime, and then, who knows?

NOT making the call, however, gave the game to the Suns.

Oh yeah, AND it put us back six games in the division.
