David A. On 7 reasons not to move to Anaheim

I certainly don't know enough about the area to agree or disagree with your asessment although I have already gone on record about the fact that the Lakers deal goes into effect in 2012 and not this fall.

My guess, though, is that a year's delay in the big money may cost the Maloof's their Palms. In fact maybe they should give up but that's up to them. Without that huge problem, they'd be distributing liquor and owning a team and probably far more be secure. No pain, no gain I guess. This is financial pain.

I think they are like on a rubber band that if you add a little more weight/problems it will snap. This is speculation but not unreasonable.

And in come the city's lawyers. :) Snap?

They sold that to pay off part of the palms remember?

You missed the point or I wasn't clear. If they had not sold that off, if thay had not built the Palms, they would be in better shape. Perhaps poeple drink more when they are stressed and out of a job but they don't gamble.

People drink when they are unhappy or happy. It's a recession proof business.

Yes, I agree if they didnt sell their first casino to buy the palms they would be in much better shape. Also, the Maloof money cup and their singers havent done much either.
