I keep telling myself to hope for the best but expect the worst... I still can't help but be excited. I hope this comes to fruition!

My larger point was no matter if DJ signed or not, Vlade and the franchise have done all the right things THIS time.

Right. He has done everything right up until this point. It appears that DJ is the guy, so in my opinion the right thing to do now is sign him today. That hasn't happened yet. When it does happen, I'll give him an A+ on the process.

I'm so excited at the possibility of this actually happening and this team taking a big step forward towards legitimacy. This, if it does happen, along with the new arena and competent FO is going to go a long way towards persuading free agents to sign here. This is a great start to the summer and I can't wait to see what's next. Let's get it done!

I hope you're right. But we ain't outta the woods until DJ signs that contract! I'm just itching with anticipation to get that announcement. I get that the process worked for us so far, but I think DJ is clearly the best of the candidates so far and we need to pounce on this opportunity.

I think the fact the Kings flew Joerger AND his family out here for multiple days points to this getting done today or tomorrow in time for pre-draft workouts. Not a sure thing, but that's what it sure looks like.

I think it may be simpler than that.

If you can coax the whole family onto your plane and keep it in flight, you can kidnap them and make it physically impossible for your preferred coach to sign with anybody else. Then you bring in your scary twitchy little Buscemi/Pesci like owner to scare the beejesus out of him, and when he finally breaks down and agrees to sign, you can keep the rest of his family hostage back on the plane to make sure he goes through with it

Love that. I was hoping for four or five years, but three years with a team option is even better, assuming Joerger is happy and not looking to push his way out of Sacramento after three seasons.
