I'm so excited at the possibility of this actually happening and this team taking a big step forward towards legitimacy. This, if it does happen, along with the new arena and competent FO is going to go a long way towards persuading free agents to sign here. This is a great start to the summer and I can't wait to see what's next. Let's get it done!
I think it may be simpler than that.
If you can coax the whole family onto your plane and keep it in flight, you can kidnap them and make it physically impossible for your preferred coach to sign with anybody else. Then you bring in your scary twitchy little Buscemi/Pesci like owner to scare the beejesus out of him, and when he finally breaks down and agrees to sign, you can keep the rest of his family hostage back on the plane to make sure he goes through with it
