I don't pay attention to stats but DC has been solid on D, the national narrative was that he was worse than James Harden, baffling really.

Thankfully Pete and Malone had a different "narrative" in their mind

I have ben a fan of IT from his UW days, but I will readily admit that DC is a much better fit. He is bigger and has plenty of quick. His defense is better. He is quiet but still a leader. He has the pass first mentality, but still capable of hitting the mid-range shots. He is deadly on fast breaks and driving to the hoop. He has dribllitis at times like many pt guards. That can be overcome.

Much of the team's improvement however can be attributed to defense. Time will tell how much of the improvement has happened at the point.

Thought these stats I stumbled across were interesting.

Direct evidence that Rudy and Cuz are now more able to excel as the focal points. They're see more of the ball.

The point was made several times last season that among other high time of possession players, IT passed the least vs time of possession.

It's clearly seen DC vs IT above. Collison has the ball less, and still makes more passes than IT.

It matters. Especially if a large percentage of those passes go to your best players in high percentage spots for them. DC is really running an offense that is getting Boogie and Rudy in great spots consistently. It's not only more passes, but better passes as well. By my eye test. Some advanced stat geek could probably say. Both Boogie and Cousins FG % are up. Both are taking fewer FGs, more FTs, and scoring more. If that continues, things will be very good.

That's because most people don't know what they're talking about. I usually avoid the "I told you so" arguments, but when we first signed Collison there were at least a few on here that tried to tell me that he has poor defensive fundamentals. Well, how does that crow taste?

Pessimism and blind optimism are pretty popular among the NBA fanbase; rarely is someone in the middle.
