Hes an above average passer, handles do need improvement but he is a great finisher and a good defender.

I can just see kings selecting him. he to me screams kings. let him get a summer league and training camp under his belt. I think he would be a great 12th pick.

Ahhh, to whom are you refering? Alexander?, Arthur?

I guess Batum has several moms because I agree with him. From what I've seen, Batum's moves and handle are way farther along than Alexander's and he's just as athletic. I don't know about Batum's heart condition, and maybe people have cooled on him a bit, but the whole Alexander phenomenon has gotten way out of hand in my opinion. He can't shoot, he can't dribble, ok, he's a fine athlete, but unless he develops a midrange game like Luol Deng or develops his skills far beyond where they are, he's basically just another Ime Udoka or Jamario Moon.

Remember Luke Jackson, picked at #10 in 2004? His skills were even farther along than Alexander's. Dare I say people get overly excited about the athletic white guys because of the novelty factor?

Well, Mrs Batum... sorry just kidding. I agree Batum is probably a better dribbler and long range shooter than Alexander, but Alexander's game is not based on threes and crossover. He's a tweener, a SF with a PF's game. Now his game may not be your cup of tea, but I can see why he's so highly regarded. He can outjump and overpower most SFs and he has just enough skill to take advantage of his physical gift and he has shown the desire to be very competitive. No one knows how good he'll be but you pretty much knows he won't be a bust.

Batum, on the other hand, is less of a sure thing. He has all the tools but the mind sometimes isn't there. He could be the next Rudy Gay or he could be back in Europe in three years.

Speaking of Luke Jackson, I consider him a bad pick from a team that has historically picked badly (Shanon Brown, Diop, Trojan Landon anyone?). Plus, his injury certainly didn't help. But Jackson is the polar opposite of Alexander. One is slow but a good 3 pt shooter (at least in college), the other is ultra athletic but bricky beyond 15 ft.

^That's fair. In some respects Batum is just as much of a question mark because of the level of competition and a mixed record this past year. I'd take the guy with skills and I wouldn't classify either guy as a sure thing, but I can see how someone might come to the other conclusion.
