The fact that the Yankees and their tormenting nature are in the AL appeared to have rubbed off on the rest of the AL All Star game last night as they remained quiet virtually the whole game and then rocked arguably the greatest closer ever (who I think is way over the hill anyways) to steal the game. I was a little skeptical when Hoffman went out there. He doesn't have that same aura he used to! Rivera still does though, and he proved that before all is said and done, he'll probably go down in history as the greatest closer ever...even ahead of Eckersley. Granted 2 of his blown saves have cost the Yankees chances to win the World Series, but no closer strikes more fear into the hearts of opponents like Rivera. Give Papelbon a few years though, and we could be seeing a changing of the guard!
