Thanks for posting the transcript, Bride.

I didn't hear the interview but they did a clip on it on News10... it was when Doug broke down and Jackie answered. :(

I read this transcript to my brother.. and just reading it, it was soo hard! I was breaking down just like Doug too!! :( Very hard to take. :(

Just happened to catch the DC interview & I was so glad I did even though it left me crying. That is a player who truely loved this team, and was truely loved by this team. He will be missed.

If there was a way to retire jerseys because of the intangibles like heart, drive, dedication, etc., then DC's would be hanging in the rafters already. Will his jersey be retired? I don't think so.

Wow, I tried to look at this from a business perspective all day, because I knew that I would feel so horrible if I didn't.

Then I read that transcript. It breaks my heart to see Doug feel that way about Sacramento. I can't begin to imagine how he feels right now.

DC has always been one of my favorite Kings, and this cements it for me. He is always professional and gives it his all. Too bad it had to end this way.

Good luck Doug! We will all miss you!

Btw, anyone have a good DC avatar I could use? I think I need to change mine.

Man...I just read the transcript, and got teary-eyed. It really, really got to me. I probably might have broken down if I had listened to it live... :(

Doug: “I hear him now Grant, that piece of crap (laughing).
That was funny, though!

This is why you got to love the Kings. Our camraderie is such a beautiful thing. They are such a close- knit family that even when Doug has to leave, he realizes it's for the betterment of the team. Had it been another team and another player, it is likely they would leave on a bad note by finding a way to bad mouth the organization or the team. I suppose it has a lot to do with our organization and fans as well. Doug must be heart- broken right now. I feel really bad for him because he was really the epitome of the Kings and our true emotional and inspirational leader. We love you Doug and you will always be the King of our hearts. God speed.

I was driving to the game....... starting crying in the car....again. The team looked totoally lost in the tunnel before they came onto the floor. DC would always be getting himself hyped up, dribbling the ball back and forth quickly between his legs while the guys watched and conversed. Today, they just kind of came out and stood there, looking around at each other.

Uh oh. Just when I thought I had that mysterious eye-leakage problem stopped.

I'm making tomorrow's pre-game show the official end of my DC "mourning" period. I wish him well in Orlando, but personally I have to let go... I have a lot to concentrate on here with the team. New players, new hopes, etc.

Life goes on...and so do the Kings and so do Kings fans!

GO KINGS!!!!!

Grant said after the interview that when Doug comes back in March, he'll try to get another interview with Doug. I can't wait to hear it!
