Does anyone have a link to the current numbers for all-star voting? I see people mentioning numbers, but I can't find anything at nba.com.

Thanks!

Had the same problme-- that site is just a catastrophe in its organization or lack thereof.

Found the Dec.31 ones on a google search I think.

I kind of wish I hadn't looked. T-Mac and Iverson, what a joke.

And tell me, why on earth would anybody go to a basketball game played in an 80,000 seat football stadium? Will anyone be able to see a touch foul or even a quick pass? Brilliant idea, just brilliant.

I once went to a Sonics game way back when they played in the old King Dome, which was a covered football stadium. There were these tiny little men running around about a mile below.

This flies int he face of traditional logic BTW, but anybody interested in having Reke make the All Star team should be voting every single day for Nash and CP3. I've explained the logic behind that before, but basically if TMac gets in, there is almost no way Reke can go. If Nahs or CP3, both of whom will be taken as reserves, gets in as a starter, then it open up one more guard spot, and Reke's ability to play some SG might make it between he and Roy (who will still have the edge if Portland sustains).

So get over there and outvote China! Come on, there's only a billion+ of them! :-p

(as an aside, I am not sure if I was the only one who noticed a strange bump last year in the voting in the Eastern Conference when it looked like Yi was going to get voted in by the China surge -- all of a sudden in the last couple of weeks people made up several hundres thousand votes on him. Wonder if Stern would wave hsi magic wand again to satop the silliness this time? Also wonder if TMac could play -- I thnik the rule is you have to be active and have played some certina number of games before the event to go.)

Well I do remember Vince Carter getting voted in several years ago, when he hadn't played all season. That totally soured me on the public voting for the All-Stars.

The All-Star game is a joke.

performance>>>>>popularity
That's why I can't take calling someone an All-Star player as much of a compliment these days. Some playersobviously deserve it, but the ones who are voted in who don't deserve it over someone else just tarnishes the award for everyone else.

I voted for tmac, he rocks! Also kings players keep getting injured in allstar games + tyreke is already playing sorta injured... So yeah I don't want it to get worse. I will vote tmac every day if that means Tyreke has to play in one less game. Yeah I know about the rookie game, but still one game is one game.

That is profoundly stupid.

So in response I went over and cancelled out your TMac vote with one for Nash and CP3. I guess I will do so every day between now and the end of voting.

I voted for tmac, he rocks!

This is why the NBA should put the players currents stats next to the name when you vote. I'm pretty sure the average NBA fan wouldn't vote for this dud if they knew he was playing like this...

PPG 3.2
RPG 0.80
APG 1.0

Its an allstar game, not like it even matters. If anything its funny that tmac will get into it. I mean really think about it... Also there are a couple other players that will probably get voted in over Tyreke Evans. He is a rookie after all.
Just for the heck of it I will make the rest of my votes for Nash. If Nash wins I bet you Evans still doesn't get in.

the allstar game is a privilege, an honor, and an accomplishment for an NBA player

and no..its not a joke.... we dont just put a guy like tmac who is a shell of his formerself into such place of honor.

its already something biased and unfair due to popular names and annual shoe ins.

i mean allstar game is an entertaining event but we all want to see spectacle, awesome plays of the best of both conferences

and btw.. bynum allstar wtf?

this was profoundly funny.... who in the world votes for Tmac.... wow get it together!!!

Why do you have to make it just about Evans? I mean, I know that there are more than a handful of myopic Kings Fans here who only watch the Kings to the exclusion of every other team in the NBA (I used to be like that myself for the longest time, to be honest... which is a hell of a challenge when you're not actually from California, let me tell you), but don't even act like Evans would be the only deserving player to get snubbed if McGrady gets voted in:

Kobe Bryant
Steve Nash
Chris Paul
Brandon Roy
Deron Williams
Tyreke Evans

That's six guys who deserve to go, and two of them ain't gettin' in. And if this McGrady atrocity is allowed to continue, three of them ain't gettin' in. Again, I know we're all Kings Fans here, but let's not like act like this is only unfair because our guy is going to get screwed by this horse****; it's unfair all the way around.

How old are you? I can't find how that would be funny in any way.
only 5, since it can't be funny if I was any older obviously... I am more interested how it would show the flawed the system that is the allstar game. Hell I was hoping Yi would make it last year to beat out KG.:p

Does the expression "cutting off your nose to spite your face" mean anything to you?

Although the All-Star voting system is flawed, it's not a big secret.

Nailed it.

Well...except in a reasonable world 5 of those 6 get in...unless Chauncey or Parker or even Ellis nudges in on rep alone (Ellis numbers alone). Normally take 5 guards. That's pretty much the top group.

As far as Reke, he's going to get dinged for being a rookie, and he'll get dinged for not being on a winning team. Barring injury he'll probably still be the odd man out, even if the TMac debacle doesn't come to pass (best chance is to nudge Deron considering how disappointing Utah has been). But if TMac makes it, there is just no way. Then 2 of those 6 guys aren't making it. And that's before we get to Parker, Chauncey, Ellis etc.

Not at all.
Although the All-Star voting system is flawed, it's not a big secret.

Not a fan of allstar game, I find it fairly boring overall. I do like watching the 3 point shoot out and the few other things going on, but I find the game very boring to watch. This is obviously a personal preference, I can see you enjoy it though.

I only voted once for tmac(sounds wrong to say out loud), and for a couple of you I voted twice for Nash.

they should have computers outside arco for every home game where in fans can use to vote... or something like that... or promote the reke for allstar in sac.. we need all the exposure we can get. we need this guy to stay and to lure talent!

well the All Star starters have been announced, and the T-Mac disaster was averted. Nash made it by a nose.

This article over there has Reke as the "Tragic Shaft" amongst the guards foir the reserve spots:
http://www.nba.com/2010/allstar/2010/01/21/west.reserves/index.html

Of course its a little confusing as it only lists 5 backups making it, and then 2 "wildcards" (Deron and beleive it or not ZBo up front). Regardless of odd format, its probably got it right with the guards. CP3, Roy, and Deron are the most likely backup trio. I could actually make an argument that Reke is having a bigger impact year than Deron is, but its a tough argument against a major PG like Deron on a winning team (if only just barely -- they are disappointing). Our recent slide back into deep lottery territory actually probably puts Reke in that same class with Ellis as just team record is too poor to pull it off. Be very interesting what would happen if somebody got hurt though. Reke could be right there as first alternate.
