Cousins suspended one game for forearm to Horford

yep, could see it coming

I'll go back to my "path to .500 by Jan 7" chart and say this still doesn't necessarily throw us off pace, as I had us losing vs. ATL and then splitting the pair in Florida. But we really gotta quit these self inflicted wound things.

Also be nice at some point, any point, for the rest of this team to suck it up and win a game without Cuz . Do wonders for morale. Are you panty waists or you men? Go out there and bleeping compete and steal one. Then Cuz comes back, we feel good and beat Orlando, and we're still climbing. Somebody please suck it up. There is no other team in the league so helpless without its star, and if I was one of those other guys I'd find that humiliating. Screw it, just win.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. Marvin Williams got away with an elbow...Boogie does not. Reputation reputation reputation. Until he changes this, it's going to be a never ending story. Karl gets his wish and gets to play small ball tonight.

Someone wise once said Rondo is not very good, or as a matter of fact, hurting the team more, when he's not paired with Cuz. :)

Per ESPN....

When exactly has Cuz been suspended for his conduct off the court ie. not related to NBA basketball?
uh - attacking the Spurs announcer after the game for talking smack about him would be considered off the court (or at least not related to basketball) I believe.

Nope. Generally off the court refers to things like Ron Artest not feeding his dog, Allen Iverson tossing his girlfriend naked out into the street, etc.

This was essentially the point I was leading to. ESPN's reporting could cause someone not familiar with Cousins to believe he has been in trouble off the court -- which isn't at all true. All the issues mentioned with Keith Smart and Sean Elliott are still considered "at the office". They are related to Cousins job. To state otherwise is really stretching the truth in an effort to further some other narrative.

I guess this was coming, but my feelings are with Boogie. Atlanta is one of the dirtiest teams and they know how to get under your skin. Pity, that DMC fell for it and Miami benefited of it.

He didn't throw an elbow. When you throw an elbow you hand moves to your body. Yes his elbow contacted his face, but he was pushing Harford off as his forearm extends at the end.

Come on now. That's a ****ing elbow. Anybody does that ish to Cuz and we're all going crazy, and rightly so. I would go to war for big Cuz, but it's a one game suspension. No doubt.

I don't think anyone is saying that cousins didn't deserve the one game suspension. But there is a difference between deliberately throwing an elbow at someone's head, and trying to throw their arms off you and your elbow hitting them in the head.

I am saying that he did not deserve a 1 game suspension. I think I have experienced worse in line at the grocery store.

How does one throw another's arms off of them when the other's arms are below theirs? Horford didn't have his arm over Cousins at all. (Recurring thing with Cousins actually - he likes to get tangled up with peoples arms. Like that double T with Drummond or whoever. I laughed because he was the one holding Drummond's arm but was shaking around as if he was trying to get Drummond off of him. Or to be fair, they were both holding each other)

There are worse things to happen in a brawl between school boys.
I really wish the league would toughen up again.
Players are allowed and encouraged to flop all over the place by giving them questionable calls and handing out stupid fines on very rare occasions, but a soft push-off, with an elbow involved leads to a suspension.
For me this a technical and that's it. When the ref misses the call, you fine the player afterwards.

The league would benefit from handing out tech's and suspensions for flopping.
