Cousins "a goner" per one Twitter hack...who then recants

Source in tune with Kings' hiring of Mike Malone as coach suggests move was made with the idea that DeMarcus Cousins "is a goner."

NOTE: This is from Sam AMICO, not Sam Amick. It is, as you will read further down, about as reliable as trying to divine the future by reading cat poop...except the cat poop probably has a better record for accuracy. - VF21

The rest of the league would certainly like that...

I certainly hope this is not the case. This does not make any sense at all.. the new ownership group hasn't even bothered to talk to Cousins, let alone deciding he is gone already

Hope not and Sam Amico isn't particularly reputable.

On more realistic news, it sounds like Mike Malone will be hiring his dad as an assistant, where he has been successful.

Seriously, "source in tune" and "suggests" are pretty vague terms that leave lots of wiggle room. I certainly hope Vivek and Malone give Cousins a serious look and a chance before deciding to just ship him out...

Good...no, great point. I looked quickly and thought it said Sam Amick. Whew. I am now officially much less concerned. Sam Amico is not a particularly reliable source.

I've edited the title of the thread. :p

It would be a crime in my eyes if they just traded him without at least having serious talks with him. This isn't even a second chance for Cuz; since day one he has been surrounded by incompetent coaches and incompetent management, followed by even worse owners. Give the guy a break. You just don't get rid of talent, especially a talented big

He should be forced to officially change his name so that we can more easily separate the pepper from the fly #$*&

funny how a guy that is pretty much cavs beat writer (Cavs a team that covets cousins) is the first guy to throw out a rumor like this.

This stuff isn't about to end folks until we get structure and firm statements from the new management.

And we can't know, because we don't know Vivek as owner, Malone as coach, or even who the GM is going to be.

But one person I do know is Sam Amico. And he is by and large considered true crap both inside and outside his market. If anybody was going to say something like this and not worry you, it would be him. This is the same turd who was telling us back in December that the Kings were going to have a hard time turning down the Bobcats offer for Cousins of Diop, Gerald Hendersen, and a mid-first rounder. ;)

It would make sense for someone from Ohio to want to stir things up. I'm sure he wouldn't mind having DMC join alongside Irving in Cleveland.

Sure, a coach making a little more then 2 mil a year without a GM to be is going to make enough waves to move a teams best player. Im not buying this one bit. Coming from an Ohio guy, however, it makes sense as to why.

so if that turns out to be true, its going to change a lot of people opinions on this coaching hire

Yes it would obviously.

I am ok with Malone because he preaches defense. Not a proven guy, but could be a great cheap hire in the Vogel tradition. But when I am asking for JVG to come in and a) coach defense and b) maximize our young stud center, and you instead come back and hire a Mike Malone to a) coach defense, and b) cost us our young stud center...yeah, just that quick your goodwill is done with me.

However, as noted, this tweet is from a noted hack prone to not only inventing stuff, but also to wildly misjudging situations (I often wonder how on earth these people get hired, and how on earth they continue to show their faces -- I would be humiliated if I were wrong that often).

Gotta know your media hacks. Multiple false alarms already from various hacks who should rarely listen to. If Sam Amick (not Amico) comes up with something like this, its a bigger deal.

Ok, you have talked me down for now. But if we do not win a championship this year i am done.

Does seem awfully convenient.

your guys favorite writer chimed in on it.

And for those asking, new ownership has no intention of trading DeMarcus Cousins, so I'm told. Cuz supposed to meet w/ Ranadive soon.

If the new regime wants him gone then good riddance... if not then great. I'm placing my faith in the new regime on this one.

Well, hmmm.

This is certainly Cousins last chance if he isn't dealt, anyway, right? I mean, Malone is Vivek's guy. He hired him before he hired a GM. That says something to me. If Cousins and Malone don't get a long, we will not be firing the coach again. Not this time.

I'm nervous, though. And I understand the source here, but I think it's a possibility. CarmichaelDave (I understand he is not a reporter but he certainly has sources close to Vivek) has been saying all along that he thinks one of Evans or Cousins will be gone. Could this JUST be his opinion? absolutely, but there is a little bit of smoke here. Remember he knew about our contract offer to AK47 before anyone else.

Cousins also had a cryptic 'smh' tweet a few hours ago ... twitter, guys. Weird world we live in.

I'll be waiting eagerly for Amick to come out and shoot this one down.
