Could Kings trade with the Lakers?????

One interesting possibility, my idea strictly but based on a number of media sources talking Lakers and Bibby or Kidd.

Kings trade Bibby and and Mo Taylor straight for Odom and Turiaf.

Salaries work, we get offense and distribution from Odom, rebounding and hustle from a very young Turiaf as possible starting/backup PF. Lakers get the top guard they want and a backup big body.

Heck Bibby straight up for Odom as they have almost exact matching salaries.

Sure, would rather have Bynum but he only makes $2M and the Lakers have him as a starting center. When Brown and Mihm come back they have one too many 5's and all 3 play with back to basket.

A co-worker mentioned that he heard on either Jim Rome or the Rise Guys that there are trade talks between the Kings and Lakers regarding Bibby.

We all hate the Lakers, and it would be weird seeing Bibby with the Lakers, but if the Kings could work out something like Bibby/KT for Kwame/Mihm/McKie/Farmar I'd be pretty happy. Mihm and McKie come off the books this year, Kwame next year, and Farmar is a good prospect. The Kings could lose some games going into the offseason and emerge with a good draft pick and over $10 million in cap space

I know that Brick has commented in the past that Bibby is not Phil Jackson's kind of player and I agreed to an extent.

However...the team is desperate for another clutch option. Also, the team has more inside help defensively (when healthy) than Bibby has ever had the luxury of dealing with. Bibby has shown himself by far more than any King against the Lakers. He has their respect (even though Shaq called him a cub scout he kicked their butt). I think with Bibby the Lakers would have a chance to win a title. For the Lakers it would be a great move. I don't think Bibby as nearly as bad as his current teammates and atmosphere make him look.

I'm not sure the Kings could get who they want out of the deal directly from the Lakers but a third team could possibly thrown in what the Kings have needed for 3 years. I guess a guy like Odom but I distrust his character.

I don't know maybe Bibby side-danced once to many times against LA, but Bibby to the Lakers would give them both a chance at a title. It makes sense to me. I have to admit, it would make me hate the local team a lot less.

The Lakers could do worse. The triangle is notoriously hard to learn, but Bibby has a high basketball IQ, is tough and a very hard worker.

They would never give us Odom for Mike. Honestly though, at this point I might just do a Bibby to LA trade. Get Kwame, Mihm, Farmar, and a 1st or something. Then ship Kwame to Seattle for Danny Fortson(his contract is expiring). If you do that you managed to clear Bibby's contract, get a 1st, and get a young player. Leaves you with 13 million in cap room in the summer, which sounds good to me.
