Corliss (or Pot, Hart, & Garcia) for Gadzurich

since the kings need a big man and Gadzurich has not been used by the Bucks head coach for over 2 years, maybe the kings can swap an expiring contract for the 5 years, 31mil contract left that gadzurich is owed...

ever since terry stotts took over the buck last year, gadzurich has been used only 12min/game last year and only 7 min/ game this year... for what ever reason, he is in the coaches doghouse.... i am sure that the bucks are looking for a inexpensive way of unloading his contract... what better way than an expiring contract....

for all the KT trade ideas, i don't think anyone would trade for his bad contract... let alone for a decent big man... SAR would be tradeable, but he is the only scoring big we have right now... i think it would take a few expiring contracts (Corliss or maybe Pot, Hart and Francisco Garcia) to get a deal done here... the bucks may require we include a young gun to complete a deal, and garcia is the most expandable at this time....

Starting line up, while miller is out:

PF KT / SAR
SF Artest / Garcia or Williamson (whichever is not traded)
C Gadzurich/Pot
SG Martin / Salmons
PG Bibby / Price

I'd make this trade with Kenny Thomas, I don't think I'd make it for Corliss. The first thing is that I think you want to hold onto Corliss as long as possible because his big expiring contract could be useful in a "home run" sort of trade for a star.

But also, I don't think the Kings really want to be helping Milwaukee with their cap situation. The Bucks already have a lot of cap space in the offseason and they're looking to sign a point guard. They've already made some overtures to Chauncey Billups. If Bibby decides he wants to opt out of his contract and the Bucks aren't able to land Billups we may just have given the Bucks what they need to get Bibby.

So a trade of KT for Gadzuric, who have similar contracts, is one thing -- giving the Bucks one of our expiring contracts is pretty risky.

I would love to see Gadz in a Kings uni, Petrie has to be looking at all of the options for big defensive players that are attainable and I'm sure Gadz is on that list.

Perhaps, but perhaps not. And here is my theory:

a) Jerry Reynolds is a buffoon; BUT

b) Jerry Reynolds is also a member (in name at least) of our front office, and I often listen to his ridiculous babbling just to get a hint about where the front office stands on things and players. Jerry is entirely too much of a parrot or a homer I think to ever intentionally run down a guy we have an interest in (or at least one that he knows we have an interest in). And at least at times my theory seems born out. I remember last year when Jerry did an abrupt about face on Ron after initially riupping him for blowing up Indiana, and I had to wonder if he had not caught wind from somebody in the front office that we might have interest and so was going to hype it the other way. He also trashed Steve Francis, and Tyson Chandler (although interestingly doing an about face there a few ngihts later when he kicked our rumps).

In any case, what does that have to do with Gadz? Well just the other night Jerry made some cut about him being the worst shooter in the NBA, and remarked about how nobody could understand why he was given a big contract. Now maybe my theory is complete bunk. Could be, I have no proof. But again, its very hard for me to imagine Jerry Reynolds making a remark like that about somebody he knew, or thought he knew, might be under consideration to join the Kings in the near future. Just not his homer style. (of course also note the alternative possibility that Jerry's newfound fascination with smallball and the evils of shotblocking make a player like Gadz anathema for him -- always frightening considering the possibility that Jerry really is spouting the Kings party line rather than his own lunacy).

^If Jerry Reynolds has more than a sinecure in the front office our problems are much, much worse than I thought.
