BTW did you know that you can actually recite every one of Emily Dickinson's poems to the tune of the Gilgian's Island Theme. Im a serious try it:

Because I could not stop for Death –
He kindly stopped for me –
The Carriage held but just Ourselves –
And Immortality.

We slowly drove – He knew no haste
And I had put away
My labor and my leisure too,
For His Civility

... bet they never taught you that in college.

....

They didn't teach me any poetry in college, Celt; I went to a technical University. Come to think of it, now that I'm back in school, I'm in another technical school; I can't be arsed to waste money on a lit class, not with what tuition costs...

Give me classes that will help me in my career, and don't bother me with the rest, that's what I say.

If you're going to do something like this, you might want to contact TPTB here first.

I don't believe that this Emily Dickinson poem can be sung like Gilligan's theme.

I'm nobody! Who are you?
Are you nobody, too?
Then there's a pair of us — don't tell!
They'd banish us, you know.
How dreary to be somebody!
How public, like a frog
To tell your name the livelong day
To an admiring bog!

Oh yes, just sang it. I do warn you once you start singing Emily to Gilligan it's almost impossible NOT to.

The only possible way to sing that one to Gilligan's is to reallllly stretch out the melody and words to fit the timing of the song. One can do that with any song. So therefore, this one can't truly be sung to Gilligan's.

Nope, it fits.

Gotta start right from the beginning, but it works.

Hint: change stanzas at the coma between us and you know. This may seem like a cheat but it was actually Emily cheating first to stay in pentamiter that you have to COPY.

(Repeat admiring bog for effect)

Now jsut try to get the tune out of your head!

It warms my heart to see so many people interested in poetry.

You know, Rory Sparrow (a former teammate) was quite the poet himself! Him and Travis Mays would sit on the team bus together and recite poetry after each game.
