Congratulations to the NBA team in the 2006 Finals not owned by Mark Cuban!!!

Now would be a good time for someone post a link to Cuban's Letterman interview which summoned the woof gods and doomed the team to lose 4 straight.

I'm really happy for Miami. A big team effort tonight, used their momentum, experience, and title sense. This series was a blast, 4 quality games, Wade's continuing emergence as a superstar and awesome player, and part of the future NBA. Just so nice to see Zo/Payton finally get rings as well, and Riley proving he can still get it done. Good, good stuff.

Dallas? Well, they had a tremendous season and run, but absolutely blew it in G3. Miami took that win and just built on it all the way to them celebrating tonight. They got a great team though, and should be in the mix still for some years to come.

Bring on the off-season dealings!

In the end the Mavs lacked the physical presence. Forget the fouls and look at the blocks and rebounds... speaks volums for the Heat.
As for Cuban, the guy is a jerk. Sure he gets excited and cares about his team but there is fine line that seperates involvemtn and obnoxious medeling and it can be found aobut six miles behind his lard butt.

the heat were the agressors, they had the desire. I remember a lot of loose balls where only Heat players would dive for it.

live and die by the jump shot. this time, they died.

i can only imagine what kind of garbage excuses cuban will come up for tonight............

Two things that get to me are that Shaq has yet another title and freaking Antoine Walker. Bleech. Other than that, I'm happy for the Heat

"Shaq and Wade are a poor man's Shaq and Kobe" really came back to bite Josh Howard.

I wasn't rooting for the Heat, but I didn't want the Mavs fans to enjoy a championship. I've disliked them ever since that year we lost to them in the PO's, where the fans on the sideline looked like they were going to kill Bobby Jackson after Bell elbowed him.

Congrats Heat. I hate you guys too, and I felt all year you guys weren't "elite". I hate that J.Will got a ring before our team did. I hate that Shaq got another ring. Too bad Lakers, what could've been had you guys just kissed his butt a little more. The thought makes me giggle with glee. Posey, I still hold a grudge against ever since he tried to rape Peja after 41! That three pointer from the corner after Stackhouse's missed three, was awesome and I said out loud “I'd hate to be a Mavs fan right about now”. I hate Payton because he's the definition of over-the-hill and for once being a Laker. I think the Lakers fan feel the same way about the last part. We at least have that in common. Somehow the Heat coaxed two clutch shots from him.

I bet Finley is happy. The Mavs killed his championship dreams twice.

Marquis Daniels played well but it's true what some Mavs fans have said, he is a ball hog. Derek Anderson is a Heat...? Better yet, weren't we in the running for Wayne Simien? Too bad for Christian Laettener, he just missed getting a championship ring. Same for guys like Eddie Jones. Being traded away from the Lakers and watching them win ring after ring, and now the Heat win one after he gets trade.

I guess I’m finished. Look forward to next year. Hopefully I have nicer things to say then. Thanks Stern, Cuban, Avery, Howard and Wade for an entertaining series.

I'm happy, don't like mavs.

Shaq won another, if he was with the lakers I wouldn't be happy but he isn't so I'm happy, happy for morning and payton, long overdue and J Will as a former King.

Alonzo Mourning REALLY wanted that ring, i haven't seen anyone try that hard in a long time. Congrats to JWill and the Heat. I just didnt want the Mavs to win so im happy about the outcome and the look on Cuban's face will forever be etched in my memory.

I have no problem with Dwayne Wade winning a ring. He is a young outstanding talent. He is also humble in his greatness. I also have no problem with Zo winning a ring after all he's been through. Unfortunately that means that Gary Payton also won a ring. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.

I think the lack of a slashing 2/3 that could finish at the rim hurt them more than a big downlow. Miami could not deny penetration even when they tried but the problem was Dallas best guys off the dribble was Terry and Harris. While both are good players they throw up soft stuff inside. It was like watching volleyball, especially when Alonzo entered the game. They need a legit 2 or 3 that can finish with authority or at least absorb contact, get the foul, and still get the shot off. The closest they had to that is Stackhouse but he struggled to even dunk wide open looks.

I gotta think that Cuban is going to be even more maniacal about refs after this. I didn't see him discuss the series after Gm6 (maybe I missed it), but he's probably furious and feels robbed.

About the Mavs, just when you thought they were gonna shed that soft choker label. Life must be cruel to their fans even though they made it to the Finals. Finals series losses suck more than anything. I think they're realizing that, especially after winning the first 2 games (been 29 years since that happened to a team -- Philly won first 2 against Port in 1977).

Buss WOULD NOT max Shaq's grandfathered 1996 contract and give Kobe his max extension. The other 10 players would be too horrid to even make it out of the West.

It's a moot point even if they loved each other.

(A three peat isn't too shabby, btw.)

My thread and I call a foul! ;)

The idea of Shaq and Riley get another ring and Walker and GP getting thier first makes my skin crawl!
