Concerning Kevin Martin-

How much trade value does Kevin Martin have, and why?

What seems like a fair return for him in a trade?

If a draft pick, how high? If a player, how good?

This deal is directly pulled from a Cavs fan site:

"I would do a Martin/Noci trade for Z/West/Moon/2 1st/Cash in an instant honestly."

What kind of barometer do you find that to be?

Edit: I think it will take some outside of the box thinking to establish Martin's value. I think you either have to swing up and include other pieces to try and land someone like Rudy Gay, or you take back a boatload of expirings. Depends on your vision for the team's future.

That's assuming he's on the block. I still don't think that's been determined. It might actually be better if we wait and see how he and Evans play together before we ship him blithely off into the night.

that is such a horrible trade from a talent stand point. z is not the future of the kings.

To answer the question, Top 10 pick this year, strong young big + candy, or packaged to bring back another star (preferably a big).

If they do decide to trade him it maybe best to wait till the summer. While other teams may have salary cap for FA, martin could be useful in a sign and trade for one of the big FA.

There are maybe half a dozen guys above Kevin's level next summer, and a) they aren't coming to a rebuilding situation in Sacramento; b) their teams aren't going to sign and trade them to anybody; c) a dozen teams, including ourselves, will have the ability to sing them outright without a S&T.

Kevin has to show that he can play for an extended period of time with out getting injured before any talk of a trade. With that said, I don't think you traide martin unless you get better in the trade. Kevin is a GREAT offensive player. Defense on the other hand, not so much. but he is improving. I say, don't trade him. :D

My personal faves are Oden, Hibbert and Noah, but its quite possible none of the three are available even for Kevin.

And then of course there is Rob Kurz.

Roy Hibbert would be awesome IMO. Is he still on a tear?

I personally would be shocked if the Trailblazers were willing to part with Oden for Martin. Interesting thought however.

Except that in a sign and trade the player can get an extra year and higher % increase in salary. That could give the Kings and advantage with Martin added. If the FA has a choice between signing outright and a sign and trade they will take the sign and trade.

Look at he Hedo deal last year. At first it was just a straight signing, but turned into a sign and trade.
