Comments on the team store

I've been to a couple games this year and have been very disappointed in the offerings by the team store, especially in the way of t-shirts. I am pushing 40; I don't need to look like a dork wearing a jersey other than to the occasional game or HPL event. I like t-shirts. This year they haven't had much of anything in the way of player shirts at all, and the ones they did have (online) were only available in a few sizes.

I emailed Jason Hill (jhill@arcoarena.com) about this and his response was:

Yes, we will be adding a full line of new tee designs for next season.

Hopefully they get some Hawes, Thompson, and Garcia (at a minimum) designs in, as I have one for Kevin and that is all they seem to carry......

Anything else anyone would like to see? If so, I would recommend dropping Jason an email.

Yeah, well, I tend to wear Kings stuff away from work, not to it. And given how it is pretty warm here from April to early October or so, I get lots of use from them.

For what it's worth, Walmart, Kmart and Target all carry - or at least used to carry - a selection of Kings t-shirts. And at better prices than the team store.

Maybe in California, they do; over here, you can't even get jerseys/t-shirts for the geographically closest team, which happens to be the Wizards. The only shirts you might find are for the top jersey sellers, Kobe, LeBron, and the like.

Now that I know you like polo Kings shirts, I'll keep my eyes open.

What's the point of wearing Kings gear if no one else is going to see it?

I have a couple Kings things in my office, but I don't feel like spending an arm and a leg on a polo shirt. And most of the time at work I am in my office, so nobody (outside our small office) sees what I wear very often anyways. But they do all know I am a Kings fan and tend to get the extra tix if there are any to be had.

VF - see, the problem is I don't "shop" much - I have a wife and she does quite well stimulating the economy on her own. I am at the games on occasion and I would gladly pay the extra couple bucks if I could just get them there.

Are they good looking? Whenever I go to Target the shirts, sports or otherwise, tend to feature oversized prints and hokey designs. I like a nice simple, properly alligned logo and nothing more than a stripe or two if I have to have trim. Black because its slimming and I am not. I cringe when I see gear in colors that aren't team colors and stuff like that which seems to be the rage nowadays (pink baseball hats in particular). I used to have a really great Kings hat I wore ragged but I lost it when I moved to Portland (it was supposed to stay with me until the Kings won a championship). I really want to replace it but all the Kings hats I see nowadays are awful too.

Among the shirts I've gotten away from the team store are a long-sleeve black t with the primary logo on it, a short sleeve black t with the primary logo on it, a black t with a basketball and the primary logo on it, a purple long-sleeve t with Sacramento Kings down the arms and KINGS on the front, etc. There is a baseball cap-style Kings hat that is black with the Kings lettering on the bill.

We need more camouflage, sequins, and rhinestones. Maybe a combination of all three.

Usually a medium, but to be specific, I'm a 15 1/2 neck, 34/35 sleeves.

Anyway, I figured this should be in heavy rotation for the ladies to wear - with a pink tank top & matching Kings logo, of course.
