[NCAAF] College football 2025 open thread

I love BB so I don't want to dogpile on him but his girlfriend and his QB2 (who may be QB1 after last night) are the same age.

only watched second half but man did they ever stink. I expect more from a Belichick defense.

Stanford lost to Hawaii...Yup, the season's pretty much ovaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! :p:p:p

I feel like I will know more about my team after Stanford plays BYU than I will after Arizona plays Weber State.

Stephen deserves his share of this but I swear the only good thing about the Pats post Brady was the defense and I believe that junior was calling the plays on defense for Brady's final run. He didn't really have tons of talent to work with at UW last year either since that little snake promised to bring over his full Arizona roster but only poached a handful.

If they stay at UNC 2-3 years then we can assess.

I saw grumblings this morning but didn't realize they were moving this quickly. Is Stephen out of his hand picked successor job if papa leaves?

Honestly I know NIL and unlimited transfers are a thing now but UNC is a hoops school and you don't just rebuild a program overnight. 2000 Patriots went 5-11. They hadn't won a game in 2001 until Drew Bledsoe got creamed by unwitting Pats legend Mo Lewis.

I’d imagine Stephen would probably at least be in the running for the interim position to finish out the year but yeah I’m really not sure what the hell the higher ups at UNC were thinking was going to happen. If Drake Maye were still on their roster, then sure I could see them being rightfully mad that the team keeps getting blown out by more established teams/college football programs that have at least be competitive this century.

I’m guessing the off the field Gen Z girlfriend stuff is probably more trouble than Belichick is worth at this point.

Somehow Brent Brennan is a bowl win away from matching Jedd Fisch's lone good season with Arizona. If they hadn't been victimized by refs protecting "good" Big 12 teams early in the season they might be 11-1 right now.

Brett Yormark lobbying hard for more Big 12 representation in the playoffs and he has a point. Larry Scott would have never. I will always hate what happened to the PAC but the leadership of that conference did it to themselves.

Basketball team looks pretty a'ight too.

Watching Lane Kiffin's interview ... what a loser. You are going to the CFB playoff and thinking about ditching your team? Go to hell dude.

Seems like a strange hire but Stanford isn't really in an enviable situation.

Their basketball team had a nice close to finish today though - secure the board after an intentionally missed FT with ~4 seconds on the clock to kickout three to win vs. St. Louis. Gotta like that, right?

Yeah, men’s basketball feels like it’s on the rise. Apparently a good recruiting class is set to come in as well. While I trust that Andrew Luck and company are doing all they can, I am not optimistic that Stanford can consistently compete in today’s football environment, as I am with basketball.

The PAC breakup was good for teams that want to take basketball seriously but going to the ACC rough for Stanford in all other sports except the kids that meet the academic standards and don’t care about family and friends attending all their games.
