[Rumor] Clippers Could Acquire 6x All-Star To Upgrade Their Bench Scoring

I don’t think I’d do this unless another creator was acquired. Bogi further gluts the 2, and DJJ is ok but he’s a significant downgrade offensively from DeRozan and his defense doesn’t make up for it. Would much rather look to move DDR for a lower tier 1st or multiple 2nds.

I think if DDR was worth a lower 1st, they would have already traded him. You trade him for two or three 2nds and you're lucky to get one DJJ level player out of those picks. I'd rather just get the guy that fills a need and gives us size.

Possibly, but at the deadline there may be a team looking for a scoring punch that may be willing to give pick(s) that they currently aren’t willing to give.

I'd do this in a heart beat. Would be nice to pair this with the Kuminga deal.

Sabonis/Jones/Maxime
Kuminga/DJJ
Keegan/Bogdan
LaVine/Keon
Schroder/Russ/Carter

I could actually get behind that team being semi competitive.

Someone that can really defend, is the kind of guy you get to replace DDR. Hard to find someone that can do that and create for others + themselves, but, one move at a time.

I’d do it as well.

They all expire in 2 years at the least (same as DeRozan) and you could also save the same amount of money the following offseason if you were to release DeRozan. The only difference is we wouldn’t have $10 mil in dead salary from DeRozan. That $10 mil would be tied to Derrick Jones Jr. which is a better use of the cap.

I like the on court fit as well in the short term. We have a lot of scorers on this roster that aren’t exactly defensive stoppers (Monk, LaVine, DeRozan, & Sabonis) and we lack forward size, length, and athleticism. Jones gives us a decent 3&D forward to plug in there and open up shots/opportunities for guys like Murray to develop.

PG - Schroder / Monk
SG - Ellis / Carter / Davis
SF - LaVine / Clifford / Bogdan / McDermott
PF - Murray / Jones Jr. / Jones / Saric
C - Sabonis / Raynaud / Eubanks

…and you could do a minutes distribution like…

PG - Schroder (26) / Monk (22)
SG - Ellis (26) / Carter (14) / Monk (4) / LaVine (4)
SF - LaVine (28) / Clifford (14) / Jones (6)
PF - Murray (30) / Jones Jr. (18)
C - Sabonis (34) / Raynaud (14)

Sabonis = 34 min
LaVine = 32 min
Murray = 30 min
Schroder = 26 min
Ellis = 26 min
Monk = 26 min
Jones Jr. = 24 min
Carter = 14 min
Clifford = 14 min
Raynaud = 14 min

I don’t think we’re taking the league by storm or anything with that rotation but it would allow us to give some consistent minutes to our young guys (Murray, Ellis, Carter, Clifford, & Raynaud) and there would be a little more opportunity to develop on offense with DeRozan’s usage/shots being sent out.

If the young guys are looking promising and they are ready for an expanded role, you could look at moving Monk at the deadline to free up some more minutes.

I don’t know why the clippers do this trade they have enough ball handlers and scores they need to surround this guys with defenders getting rid of a defender to add another ball dominate guy makes no sense
