Clean and simple....lets just cut the head off the snake right away with one slash

Utah sends: Andrei Kirilenko
Sacramento sends : Ron Artest and Kenny Thomas

PG: Bibby
SG: Martin
SF: Garcia
PF: Kirilenko
C: Miller

There is no question that Garcia will start if...um when Artest is gone. He isnt getting any younger and we cant waste anymore of Garcia's year.

We lose arguably the best perimeter defender in the league, but gain the best paint defender in the league.

Garcia can turn out to be a Christie with an added offensive arsenal, which I can take any friggin day.
Passion, heart, the will to win.

As for Kirilenko, you guys have to realize that you have to stop judging him based on last season. Deron just came out today and said that he wasnt passing to AK off the screens because he would be the first to leave the gym.
WHAT? Well thats a great way to lead my friend.

Sloan put him into an uncomfortable role. His natural position in which he thrives in is the 4 spot, not the 3. He carried Russia on his back all the way to the European Championships and won. I mean since when has Russia been good in ball? Soviet times they were challenging, but thats it. I'm Russian and even I admit to it.

Nevertheless, we can have an All-star player if we receive AK at the 4. A thriving Garcia. Emerging Martin. We cut down the roster by one, so that is a step forward. Then we hope Petrie does something with the rest of the big men.

But, I'm sure this trade is a thumbs up for anybody who um...dislikes the K9.

Artest doesn't do the stuff AK does ... so what? AK>>>Ron bro???

I want to say "good bye" to KT .... everyone does .... but no way Utah will take crazy Artest and Thomas ... besides, can you imagine Ron and Sloan together ???

I am sure Utah either wanna keep AK or trade him for something worthwhile. They are very conservative organization.

I am not sure whether we need AK or not but I am almost 95% sure that AK will not be in Sacramento. It's kinda fun to play with possible trade scenarios but IMHO they are unreal ... ALL ...

The player that garcia has always reminded me of, even in college is Tayshawn Prince. Both get their hands on a lot of balls with their wingspans, both have good three point shots, and both have good court awareness offensively and defensively. Their size is also comparable.

Saying that, I like this trade idea because we retain our wing depth, while adding a stud PF, finally! Kirilenko can take Kenny Thomas's place any day:D. I don't see a large defensive drop off here either, as Francisco would get a bunch more minutes at the starting 3 spot. Salmons, Douby, and Shakur could be a good back court bench mob, with Justin, Spencer, Mikki, and Shareef getting minutes up front.

might need a 3rd theam for that one but any trade that gets rid of thomas is worth looking into...

Have you seen AK's contract? He is overpaid. The production that you get from him is similar to Bibby in relation to his contract. That contract doesn't fit with our rebuild situation.

Ummm...and why would Sloan want Ron Artest and Kenny Thomas from us???

Okay, I'll answer that question. To me, the Jazz probably don't need Kenny Thomas. Matt Harpring is essentially a jacked up version of Thomas, with better inside-outside offensive skills, same strong build, above average hustle and whatnot. And besides, aren't Harpring and Paul Millsap tweeners enough for the small forward positions? Sloan wouldn't trade for yet another "tweener." And don't you think that other teams would know of the fact that Kenny Thomas, yes, the moping KT, was somewhat of a "cancer" in our locker room? I'm pretty sure the word has spread, and Sloan likes a clean slate out of all his players, methinks.

As for Ron Artest...I won't even go there.

As much as I an advocate for Garcia getting more time to get his head in the game and live up to his potential as an all-around stat stuffer, I still think that 22+ minutes of burn of him per game is still suitable at this point.

You are one of the many that base AK and Bibby based off the 06-07 season without taking into account what the circumstances were. People just like to think that they suddenly just stopped playing at a high level.

A happy AK is worth that kind of money. Flirted with a quadruple double for crying out loud in his all-star years. Then, suddenly when Sloan puts him into the 3 slot he just cant perform. Add to the fact that we just found out that Deron wasnt even passing the ball to him since he was supposedly leaving the gym earlier than most players.

You saw what he did with Russia playing his natural 4 role. He didnt just fall off the radar. The man can still lead the league in BLOCKS, a great rebounder, and is a far better passer than Ron.

For those who say that AK cant play perimeter D.
Are you kidding me? Did you guys even watch the 07 playoffs?
He shut Tmac down in Game 6 and basically hounded him the last couple of games. Then in GS, when Deron would get into quick foul trouble against B-Diddy, AK would start guarding him on the perimeter and did a pretty damn good job of swatting multiple shots as well as stripping the ball from him....from a quick pg.

Also, if you want to talk about having someone be overpaid, you forgot that we are getting rid of Kenny in this deal.

The way I see this trade is like this:

We get AK and a Garcia who will start, while we get rid of a nutcase + a real overpaid useless baby.

No...I am not basing his current value on just last year. Have you looked at the contract? He does not put us over the hump even if he's playing well. So we potentially get better at the 4 with AK but then drop off at the 3 going from Artest to Cisco. It's a wash and we are still left with a rebuild. Personally, I like the AK game but I also think that a guy making that type of money will take us to championship level. Can't say that he would.

I'm down for any trade that gets rid of K9, but I just don't see Utah taking on Mr. Pyscho and Dr. Cancer; and I don't see them trading AK to a team within their conference. Not to mention AK will be just as pissed behind Bibby, Martin, and Miller in the offense. Besides, you really don't him shooting the ball anyway.
