Well, I'll go on record with being wrong about Detroit.

And personally, I've never been with that "new blood" stuff, unless the team I root for is said new blood. So...

Go Spurs?

I'm going with positive thinking and picking the Cavs. I'm not terribly confident about it, but I cannot and will not vote for the Spurs.

The more success the Cavs and Lebron have, the more tradeable Ron is. Or the more you'll get in return. A guy like Bowen is a top defender, but he's not built to defend a strong guy like Lebron(as we saw last year with Bonzi tearing him up). So, I think the Spurs will win just due to experience and talent, but the Cavs winning would make Artest lucrative to contender teams and thus be better for the Kings, as Artest is one of the few with the skill and bodytype to guard Lebron.

After the Suns-Spurs series incident, I'm rooting for whatever team thats against Spurs with the exception of the Lakers.

so..... GO LEBRON!

Bowen will have trouble, but he'll get help, but the key to the series is option #2, #3 and the bench for Cleveland. What Lebron does, doesn't matter. What his teammates contribute, does..

Greg Popovich will outcoach his former assistant. Cleveland may make it interesting with several close games but San Antonio is the master at winning tight battles in the playoffs. Spurs in 5 or 6.

I really don't like the Spurs, so I'm voting Cavs by default.

That was kind of my feeling.

Plus after the game Lebron had Thursday night, I'd love to see him cap it off with some nice pretty jewelry. The fact it would be at the expense of the team from San Antonio would just be icing on the cake.

:)

As I said earlier, he can get 40-50 a night but he'll need the #2, #3/bench for 4 games. Whether they do that or not, is what is key to the series...

I'm picking the Spurs. I don't think Cleveland is ready to win something like this just yet, but anything can happen and that's why you play the games.

I voted for the Spurs because I chose the team that I thought would probably win. I am not rooting for the Spurs.....no how.....no way.

Go Cavs!!!!

Go Spurs! Watch out for Carrot Flop and Bron's star calls though...

I probably wont watch this series, I might watch one game. I'm rooting for the Spurs because I'll NEVER root for a team who just destroyed Webber's chance at a ring and I'm disgusted by Cleveland's players. Mainly Varejao.

If Daniel Gibson is able to match his point total from Game 6 of the ECF in the entire NBA Finals, I will be surprised. He's going to need to do so for the Cavs to have a chance.

I think the Spurs take home another odd year title, but I think the NBA Finals probably just got a bit more interesting. I'm not sure if the Spurs were necessarily worried about facing the Pistons in the NBA Finals as they match up pretty well with the Pistons at every position.

But *if* Lebron can continue his stellar play *and* have his teammates step up to help him (Hughes starting to hit shots and Gibson playing out of his mind), then I think this Cavs team presents a much different set of problems for the Spurs than the Pistons would have.

I will be interested to see how the Cavs attempt to defend Tony Parker...can Larry Hughes chase him around effectively? That may be one of the biggest keys to this series.

I might watch a few games to get a chance to see Lebron playoff greatness. Don't care much who wins, and I don't think I'm particularly good at picking winners either.

Guess I'm rooting for the Spurs on this one. I'd have to say I can't stand Varajeo. He has taken the art of flopping to a whole new level. Don't like the cavs anyway so spurs by default as well.

Yes, but now he's not as much of a secret as he was in the past, and Spurs have enough time to get their reports in order. Also, if Lebron doesn't play well, Cleveland will have trouble.

Well they will need Lebron, Gibson, #3 and some bench help.

True and not true. The guys who give Duncan the most trouble are long guys (the best defender against Duncan being Sheed). Spurs have no answer for Billups, although Bowen was really effective in the key moments of the game in 05. But he just is too much for Parker.

Of course no one will have an answer for Lebron, but he's going to be needing to score those 25-30pt games for them just to have a chance, because the team generally goes with him. Then of course he's going to need Gibson to stand up along with Hughes.

Spurs are one of the best teams at protecting the 3 pt line, and that's where Lebron's teammates hurt Detroit badly.

But regardless, it'll be a cool series with Spurs East(Ferry/Brown led) against the original Spurs.
