Cisco Garcia, from a UofL Fan.....

#1
Hey everyone, I guess you all just got a new Kings fan. Anyone doubting Cisco should not worry, I have been to every home game when he was at UL. FG is a star in the making and IMO will be the next Reggie Miller, but with better passing and ability to take it to the rim. Garcia holds the record for assists in a game at UL with 17 or 18, his passing is better than most point guards, and he has made 6 or more three pointers in many games. I will post some videos and pictures of Cisco for everyone, starting with a gallery of him courtesy of insidetheville.com.....

Over at my Home site (itv.com) the female posters over there love Cisco lol. You all will eventually love him, plus I'm pumped to see him tear up the Lakers.

You guys will love his attitude also. On the court he is always involved and serious, but when he is on the bench he is the teams biggest cheerleader. He is always off the bench waving towels and encouraging the team and was a leader from his first game as a freshman.

He also has a great sense of humor and always has a smile on his face. He is the only player i remember who could make coach Pitino laugh during a game. You surely won't have to worry about any locker room problems with this kid.

Cards fan here also, now a Kings fan too..

I copied this from the other thread with 16 pages on it aboug Cisco. I'm also a Cardinal fan and now I'm a Kings fan. I really think Garcia's game is more suited for the NBA then College and I think it will take you guys all of 1 game to fall in love with this kid.

I think alot of you guys are too quick to write Garcia off. Garcia's game is built for the NBA. Actually more so then the college game. For those that say he is not a good defender, it's obvious that you have not seen Garcia play much. He may get pushed around a little down low by some big men, but Garcia's going to play the 2 in the NBA. Probably wont see much 3.

To those that say he can't create his own shot, once again, many havn't seen him play. Louisville's whole offense was initiated by Garcia taking his man off the dribble and driving down the lane. Pretty much an option style offense. If the defense collapsed, Garcia found the open man, if not, he would eat them alive taking the ball to the hole. Some have stated that he is not going to dunk on another teams center, and this is a very true statement. He's not going to dunk on many big men, but his body control is great when he's slashing towards the basket.

His court vision is great also. On occasions he would get lost in the shuffle of the offense, but this was mainly because at times he can be too unselfish.

You guys are going to love to watch Garcia play and I honestly think that he will have one of the better rookie years of the class. His game is made for the NBA and should be fun to watch. I've just become a huge Kings fan now.

The Cisco Kid

I see Cisco developing in the same way Wade did for Miami. I'm also a new Kings fan! I hate the Lakers even more, now that Travis diener is on the team!

The saga continues!

Good input from you Card guys. I think a lot of us here are too eager to get an athletic big man who can rebound because thats the main reason we lost it last season. If FG is to showcase his skills, hes probably going to encounter the same BS the rest of the team encountered last season and get frustrated. A team leader is what this team needs. Bibby has that role so far, but an extra guy with balls and the "just do it" tude to go at it is always welcome here. I figure if we address the lack of athletism by signing an athletic rebound hungry PF who necessarily doesn't score much, I can see FG getting more looks and contributing which will help his comfort zone.

Anyhow, here is his game log for all the games hes played:

Wow, we got some new fans, looks like Cisco has beloved fans all over. I’ve never seen him playing as many fans on this board except Venom. All our assumptions were based on articles that we could dig up of the internet. Now I can be sure we got the right player who can gel in, cannot wait to see him on the court. I bet Cisco hates Lakers too, am I right? ;)

Thanks for the links and welcome to the board. Gotta go time’s up (lunch).:(

First of all it's good to see all you Card fans hear. My Step Mom is a Louisville Graduate back when they won the championship in the early or mid 80's.

after hearing Cards fans i am completely comfortable saying, barring a major choke job that this kid can start and produce for the Kings. and if he can handle the ball then he can take over the point so that bibby can rest a bit.

Hey, Card fan. What are his defensive strengths and weaknesses?

PS: THIS KID BETTER WORK OUT. YOU OWE US BIG FOR PERVIS ELLISON. :)

Nickname: The Latin Assassin

I am very excited to see this kid ball. I only got to see him once last year against West Virginia in the Elite Eight. But I am well familar with the game. I am absolutely thrilled. I was hoping he could play some "3", because the Kings need a backup small forward. But it sounds like "The Latin Assassin" is a natural two guard. If that is the case, he should not get out-physicaled by many two guards.

welcome card fans! i'm hoping you guys are right about francisco, and the kings get back to a passing offense that brought me into the fold in the first place.

Another Louisville Cardinal Kings fan here

Long time Cardinal fan here but i am also a Kings fan of a few years. Of course we're thrilled about Cisco in Sactown. My wife is especially thrilled because i don't have to go out and buy extra team gear. I already have a closet full. I have posted on the Bleacher Mob forum as JRedd but was directed here by some Kings fans who ended up on our Louisville board. Obviously the Kings need a low post presence especially on defense but you should know that the Kings will benefit from Cisco's all around game. Of course he can shoot the ball but he's underated as far as his all around game. You won't get a more passionate player either. He is a GREAT kid and he has character. You're going to love him. I trust Petrie will take care of the needs of the Kings in other positions but i just thought i'd add my two cents on Cisco.....

Go Kings
Go Cards
