i wonder...did they have on SC nightly top 10 how it took Andy Roddick 8 long minutes for a bathroom break today in Aussie...i don't know tennis but i guess that is extremely usual for it to take them that long...though he was getting smashed by the country born kid...so he prolly just had to take some time and calm down a bit...but i thought it was pretty funny

Props to C Webb. How can you not be happy for the guy? He stepped up again and made the big shot. I am happy for him and even happier to see him get that monkey off his back!

I don't understand. long shot was better than nothing. but missing does lose the game! it was making that 3 that forced the tie. What are you saying vf21?
Dac, this thread was revived, that post was made after Chris game winning three to break a tie;) I know, it's getting to the point it's hard to keep them all straight.
Can't wait to watch the tape on this one, darn those closing shifts!!!!

funky - I agree entirely. I don't want him to force shots either. But, as I saw it, he didn't have much time, he didn't see anyone open, and a long shot that might go was better than nothing, especially since missing didn't lose the game. It was already tied so he didn't really have to worry about losing the game. Why not take the shot when the clock is running out and no one has a better chance?

It's not like Chris hasn't done this before. Have you been watching?
Yes I have been watching and it was awesome. but if webber missed the 3 we would have lost. I'm trying to understand what VF21 is saying when VF said missing didn't lose the game.

I just explained it to you. The original post was made after Webb hit a game winner in a TIE game. After Webb hit THIS game winner, someone brought up the OLD thread.

Yeah, with Webber hitting so many key threes lately, I can see the confusion.
Hehe.... that's the kinda confusion I love.

Great clutch game by Webb, he was just a warrior out there. Same goes for the rest of the team.

Top Webber plays of the night:

Second quarter (I think), not just a pump fake- Chris actually followed through to the point his left hand was off the ball and it looked like it was leaving his fingers, but he pulls it back down and drives for the layup while Yao is wondering where he went.

Fourth quarter, penetrates from behind the arc and makes like he's going for the dunk over Yao, then swoops the ball and his body completely around for the fancy spinning layup that crawls in. Celebration: fist pump.

Fourth quarter: The Shot. Back to the basket but no matter, his other senses become sharper, he's got the location of the hoop triangulated in his mind, just has to turn and fire. Celebration: "What'd I tell you!?"

The look on Brad's face was priceless.

Ahh Dont you love WEbb? One second your saying NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tthe next YYEESSSSSSSSSSS I knew he'd make that:p

Nice job Webb... You looked great last night.

I gotta say while i liked it i dont want to see it every game, this is starting to become a habit. I just hope he doesnt think hes gunna do it in the playoffs when hes got way better shooters then him that should take. When it comes down to it, i would want bibby to take the last shot.

Kamla just predicted on NBA TV that CW will be the #1 fantasy bust in the second half. It is his nightly low five segment. I hope this gets back to Chris. Proving people wrong seems to motivate him.
Kamla has been saying that all season. I just don't see his justification - you can't assume that someone will get injuired again just becuz he has in the past. However, Webb did make it onto Kamla's list of iron men, along with Grant Hill (players putting up big numbers htrough a great deal of pain and diffculty). If you really think about it - without the two San Antonio games (one in which Webber only played a few minutes, and the other wheere his ankle seemed to be bothering him), C-Webb has been putting up around 28 points since Mobley joined the Kings.

Yea - Bibby is def. still the best clutch player they have. That heing said, if a play for Bibby doesn't work, I'm starting to feel that Webber is a better option than Peja for a last second shot. He has the confidence and fighting spirit that Peja has only occasionally. Either way, the Kings are a team and in the end, nothing matters except that they win.

Bibby is known for taking that last second clutch shot. That is why the fake worked so well on TMac. He fully expected the hand off back to Bibby who would then take the last shot.

Chris has all the confidence in the world, and Bibby was missing shots right and left in the 4th qtr. I was actually groaning when he would take another shot......and miss again. I just knew that the final play was being called for CWebb............and, once again, he delivered. I love that guy!!!!!!

This is starting to become a GREAT habit that the great players have. One of those defining characteristics -- want to take the big shot, make the big shot. Now at this point we've got three clutch shooters on this team in Webb, Mike and Mobley, and that's starting to reach the point where we can be quite dangerous in tight games. Probably the single most exciting development in Kingsland this season.

one of the kings greatest strengths thus far this season is their ability to execute in the clutch. against SA, it was tough, and they couldnt fight that defense, but overall, the kings have done very well in clutch situations this season. rarely do they blow teams out, but they make the big shots when they need to, and thats gonna be a key in the playoffs, when very few games are ever blowouts.

When it comes down to it, I want the player to take it who has the best chance AT THAT MOMENT of making it. I don't care what the name on the back of the jersey is.

There are two distinct mindsets for Kings fans.

I look at every game as an opportunity for the Kings to win.

Other people look at every game as an opportunity for the Kings to lose, and they worry about it.

Quite frankly, I think we have the better team even without Pedja, Evans and Bobby. Will we win? I don't know. That's why we actually play the games, but I'm sure not going to worry about it ahead of time.

Yes. The Wolves are reviving, and we aren't healthy. And of course the Wolves play some of their most inspired ball against us -- we always seem to get them going. Doesn't matter who's better or who's worse, just that the Wolves see "Sacramento" on a jersey and suddenly unite. Be a good confidence builder if we can go in there and win. If not...well I will be rooting all year for something dire to happen to Minnesota to somehow keep them out of the playoffs. We have enough problems with the Spurs out there lurking, don't need another landmine team for us in the playoffs.

I knew that Webb was going to take the shot, and honestly, there wasn't anyone I would have felt better about taking it at that point.Yeah, Bibby is a great shooter, but that also means the defense is going to be on him more. Webb has the confidence (and obviously the ability) to just take it. I love it! Webb is becoming a viable option when you need a 3 at the end the game, and that is awesome. It just makes it that much harder for the other team to defend against.

3 clutch shooters is great, and when Pedja's healthy he is always going to draw a defender or two if it's the end of the game and they need a 3. He may not be as solid in a clutch situation, but he obviously has the ability to knock down shots. I think our offense is very dangerous right now, and I know that we can tighten up our defense. If that happens, watch out!:)
