Chris paul

One encouraging note is that Salmons and Thornton represent more than $15M in salary and would expect CP3 would want $15-$20M. Plus CP3 is on record saying he'd love to play with Cuz. If Ranadive has the deep pockets and Malone has the ear of CP3, why not?

How would I love a lineup of: CP3 and Tyreke with Cuz in the middle and PPat on one wing. Cole, JT, and Jimmer off bench. Ok, Ok, lets not go crazy here, it's just a wild idea.

Salmons and Thornton for Chris Paul?

I don't know that CP3 works with Tyreke. I still dislike point guard as the star of a team. I'd rather have CP3 than Derek Rose, but I would rather have Roy Hibbert than CP3.

Why not try to get Bledsoe instead and then we have our backcourt set.

Paul would be infinitely better than Bledsoe. Paul can attack the rim but always clears the lane when he fails to get through. Paul also spaces the floor very well. Both of these traits are important when you play with a Tyreke who is best slashing or driving. As long as Tyrekes set shot from 3 is not a myth then the offensive/defensive potential of that backcourt is unreal. Remember Paul is usually a league leader in steals...

If he is so damn good, you would think he would be good enough to lead a team with Cousins and Tyreke to a championship.

Maybe - but to win a championship Evans and Cousins have to improve and this will take some time. Paul is 28 and i doubt he wants to wait maybe 2 Seasons for Cousins and Evans to mature, before he can make a run at the championship. The risk he would be one of those guys retiring without winning a championship would be pretty high.

Paul is better than Bledsoe- no doubt about it. But Bledsoe may be a guy you can actually convince to play for the Kings the next years and who fits pretty well, cause he is not ball-dominant and is one of the best defenders at the PG-position. He really impressed me, when Chris Paul was out and he was given mature minutes.

well, a championship team has more than three players and, quite frankly, outside of Cuz and Tyreke, I'm uncomfortable thinking of any of our other players as a starter on a championship calibre team. one or two might have it in them to be backups on such a team, but that leaves a whole lot of question marks and also means that it'd take time for that team to become a contender. Chris Paul most certainly does not want to join a rebuild, not when he has much surer bets as alternatives.

I suppose you could count Birdman as a player, so Miami has 4.

the Heat are as exceptional as championship teams come, yet their roleplayers still blow most anybody elses out of the water. guys like Chalmers, Battier or Haslem might not seem like much on their own, but they're far better suited as support guys than the Kings' rotation players are. put those three on the Kings, give the team a proper coach and I feel a lot better about the possibilities of playoffs.

If we got CP3, and kept hold of Evans and Cousins, that could be a great base for our future. It would certainly increase the feel good factor. But personally I see CP3 going elsewhere, I wonder if the Rockets would be interested in pairing him with Harden? A combo of CP3 and Harden could be one of the best back courts in the league.

Harden-CP3 would be notoriously unbalanced duo. There you have 2 players who need the ball in their hands to be effective. Both are ball dominat players and them there is the fact that 2 high scoring players in the backcourt just does not work.

Houston will be better off with Howard-Harden duo just like we would be better off with CP3 and Cousins than we would be with Cousins and Dwight. Your team needs to be nicely balance with inside and outside threats.

I actually don't like either of those scenarios all that much for Houston. they have solid starters in both the PG and the C spot, starters that come with a lot less headache in the case of Asik (whom I find to be pretty underrated anyway), and a gaping hole at the PF. they could see if T-Rob or Motiejunas pan out, but they might be better off going after other options, like West or Love (as unlikely as those scenarios are).

Lol, if we got CP3 the "future" would be now. He's one of the few players in the nba that makes any team he goes to an instant contender. He may or may not ever win a title but he'll always have his team in the playoffs as long as he's healthy.

This, CP3 is the ONLY reason the Clippers were a playoff team, he literally made them better by about 20-25 wins the man is that good.
