Chris Duhon

I'm gonna pull a =LL= here and make a completely random personnel thought.

Say the Kings can't resign Beno, who is the next best PG on the FA market? I think Chris Duhon would be a good look if we could sign him to a 2 or 3 million dollar contract for a few years, with him understanding that he'd get a starting spot and a chance to up his numbers on a rebuilding team while looking for bigger money a few years down the line.

I'd much prefer the Kings resign Beno and then draft DJ Augustine with their lottery pick or maybe trade up to get him with a late 1st rounder. Trust me, I think this kid is going to be straight NASTY when he comes in to this league to play.

But if something happens to hinder that scenario, then I think Duhon would be our best and cheapest bet on the FA market.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind a Chris Duhon signing. Servicable PG and does what is asked of him. Too bad that one Bulls game (I can't remember if it was last year or the year before) ruined any favor I would have of bringing him on board.

Unless Gilbert Arenas opts out, I think that Beno is probably the pick of the bunch. It's pretty thin on PGs this year, compared to other positions. Most of the unrestricted FAs are some combination of old and unexciting.

We're not going to have any money to spend anyway, so I really hope that there will be at least one useful PG among our three draft picks.

Beno will resign. he knows hes the man. whats he going to go be a back up point for a chance for a ring? he has two rings! he knows he will start and get playing time here. lets try to get partick mills!! out of the draft to back up beno!!

Isn't Calderon from Toronto going to be a free agent? If so I'd love to get him although I'm sure there is no chance at that.

Beno is great though, I hope he remembers that the Kings are the ones who gave him is chance and takes their mid-level as opposed to someone else's.

Beno's gonna require the vast majority, if not all, of the MLE IMO.

And that's one problem of not having any backups. Given our lack of options, Beno shall have a bit more leverage.

Of course, also depends on what other offers he gets. Don't know how many teams shall be in the market for PGs, and willing to spend.

He will be a restricted FA, so if we offer him everything we have (MLE), Toronto will match it and we lose. I'd guess our chances of getting him to be approximately 0.000.

Unless someone makes an insane offer, I think Toronto is going to match it (even over the MLE). He has played very well for them, and Ford's injury makes him too risky.
