I will admit that Tyreke likes to operate from the top of the key. But I've also seen him attack from the right wing and the left wing, although he seems to perfer the right wing. The point is that no matter where he sets up he should be able to get someone open. If you overplay one player you have to give up something to do that. What the Kings aren't doing is taking advantage of what the other team gives up. Now obviously they're going to try and help off of the Kings weakest offensive player, which is why player movement is so important. If we don't space the floor properly and also just stand around, were easy to defend. If they help off a player, then that player needs to move without the ball, and is some cases he can free up another player. The whole idea is break down the other teams defense. To confuse them. Right now I don't see much of that going on.
Player movement is good, but with Tyreke's drive and kick offense, it dosnt allow for much player movement. When he drives, the defense collapse onto him, and he kicks it out to the open man. That kind of attack requires that at least 1 player stand at the wing to bail him out or else he'll just throw the ball out to noone and result in a turnover which weve seen at times. The other players are out of his sight because the defense has swarmed onto Tyreke, his only opportunity is to kick it out the guy open at the 3 line. This is what weve been seeing with Casspi Cisco or Beno out at the wing. Simply put, that kind of offense is a 1on1 move and doesnt give us much options as a team. That is also why it is so good on the open court because it is a higher chance of simply going at a man 1on1, but in the half court possession, it is easy to shut down. Now if you put him on the left/right block then it gives him a better chance at succeeding because hes more or less in a 1on1 situation.
