Chi, PHX, SAC

PHX gets Artest, SAR, Cisco
WHY? Because they get 2 wind defenders who can knock down open threes. Artest is obviously the elite defender but we have seen Cisco play tenaciously as well. Both knock down the 3 and that spreads the floor with Shaq and Amare. Also, the suns get deeper by trading 2 (also long contracts) for 3. SAR can play a reserve PF for them, and I think he can do it well.

Sac gets LB, gooden, and a 2011 1st rounder (PHX)
I would do this without the 1st rounder. LB is a bargin and plays fast paced like Theus wants to play. Gooden is an ending contract and a solid big man to help us in the interim. I know you guys will hate to loose cisco but he doesn't really have a spot on this team with salmons.

Chi gets Diaw
Gooden for diaw really helps the scoring load at the PF position. Pair Diaw with TT and Noah and you have the tenacity balanced with the finesse.

I've heard worse. I don't love the deal for any team, but it isn't unfair per se for anyone either.

Barbosa would be the sixth man, the energy off the bench I assume. Gooden would immediately start at PF? Mikki is another energy guy off the bench?

Lineup would be:
SF-Salmons
PF-Gooden
C-Miller
PG-Beno
SG-KM

Bench-LB, Mikki, Hawes, JT, etc

No chance of the playoffs whatsoever, but some scoring punch. Barbosa's contract? Interesting how this trade opens up a need at SF. I guess backup SF's are pretty easy to find. Could Drew play some SF?

I've seen worse trades, but I'm not sure if I do this. As for the bolded part, that is NOT true, especially given if this trade goes through, he would be our primary backup at the 2 or 3

Drew cannot play the 3 at all. For us, its moreso getting out of a bad contract and getting a bargin on a good young player plus a pick. The kings are not making the playoffs for many years, so that can't be the goal.

Barbosa is seriously overrated right now, and overpaid. The guy doesn't really have a position or really any standout skills other than speed. He's an undersized shooting guard who doesn't shoot. Meh. And we have no need for Gooden now that we just drafted a young PF who needs minutes to develop. He is an expiring contract, but so is Artest. I'd rather have Diaw than either of those guys, but even Diaw is overpaid. Phoenix's salary cap problems are all their own doing and I'd prefer to let them suffer through them instead of bailing them out.

No thanks. I would rather trade our 6'7 245lbs. for a player of comparible size and weight. Taking a risk on Barbosa is not chill. But taking a risk on a big guy sits alot better with me. I dont see this trade as good for anyone except PHX. what the hell? I dont want to help any team in the Western conference unless it helps us just as much. that being said, Artest is probably going to NY or New Jersey or Boston.

The great thing about the trade is that we get rid of SAR. But I wouldn't pull the trigger.

It's no secret that I love Cisco and want to ship out Salmons. But there's no way I'd keep Salmons over Cisco. Ship out John but keep Garcia. I love Francisco's attitude and his play way better that I like watching John play and handle himself on the court. I'd rather be frustrated with some of Cisco's mental basketball mistakes than the poutyness and "me" style of Salmons.

John = Me Player...Garcia = Team Player

Its not that easy to ship out John. PHX has alot of what we have, and this deal just as much to do with dumping SAR as it is getting a pick and a cheap young guard. Our major mistake was signing Beno to a long term deal. That was moronic. But Yes PHX gets the best of this deal in the here and now but thier 2011 pick could be top 15.

we have to know as Kings fans that the Kings will not make the playoffs anytime soon. The rest of the Rest will not allow it, regardless of who the kings get. So think for the future guys. Start collecting picks.

Yeah saying he doesn't have a spot on the team after Artest is gone. Whats up with that. He averaged over 26 min a game last year with both Artest and Salmons here. If that isn't a spot on the team then I don't know what is.

yea i know i love watching garcia come and bring the added hustle.
John gets on my nerves b/c he will play good as a starter but will not play good when he is coming off the bench.
