hes so retarded, yesturday he said the kings werent even in the top 5 in the west. Ofcourse he said the spurs were first.



I smoke a couple of dubbies in my day but never durring the season. Charles barkley on the halftime show
 
Dont take anything he says too serious , they pay him to make fun of players and teams .. and we all know just like every other sports caster they pick teams that are doing good or have good records .. always do ... besides its fun being under the radar then we can suprise teams and woop them up.

Chuck means no harm, he just likes to get people all riled up for no good reason, its not that he doesnt like the Kings, he, just like alot of other prognosticators, dont know which direction our beloved team will go next with all the changes...even though we know and believe that the only way is all the way up. Once we win a few games convincingly now that we have Mobley, Chuck will start to sway his opinion...its happened before. Walton is the same way...even Big Bill has pushed the Kings in a good light several times over the last few years.
 
I'd like to know which was the fifth team in the Western conference better than the Kings? I can see an argument for not being in the top 4 with Dallas, but of the three teams below the Kings (Twolves, Lakers and Houston), does he really think any of those three teams are better off than the Kings? Just b/c the Twolves have Garnett doesn't mean that they are a better team. They certainly haven't been playing like it as of late.

You should never get upset over what Barkley says. I mean, there were times when I was getting pissed off because he would always talk trash about Kings, but I realized that Barkley is nothing more but a fat a** and taking him seriously (or taking to heart anything he says) is just stupid

IMO barkley does that for the shock effect. he loves seeing how people react to what he says. even if he likes the kings he may still say someting provoking just to annoy people.
 
It is all good.

As long as Barkley says that we suck - we are in great shape.

The moment he says that we have a chance of winning- our season is over.

Barkley has absolutely NO meaning in his words. I can see on Kenny, Magic's and Ernie's face how annoyed they are when Barkley stars talking.;)

barkley is just a color commentator..... he shouldnt be taken seriously, i doubt that he takes himself all that serious....
 
I usually find him entertaining, but he should just shut up about Sactown already.

Webber's gotta guard Shaq, Webber's gotta want it more, Webber's gotta take over the team, Spurs, Lakers, blah, blah, blah. Did he pick the Pistons, no... What exactly does he know about winning it all, anyway? And his only move (back that thang up) is now illegal in the NBA.

And he always picks Pedja to lose the 3pt shootout. I've got a couple recorded and he even picked Pedja as not getting past the first round! We need a restraining order against him.

He would give anything on earth to have played with a team like the Kings. And yet, deep down inside, he knows he wouldn't have fit in.

It's all about envy.
 
at first what he said ticked me off. i couldn't believe he'd put dallas and the twolves ahead of us, even though we have a slightly better record than dallas and the twolves were barely a .500 team at the time. then i realized i shouldn't put much into the thoughts of someone can't pronounce nowitski (it's no-VIT-ski chuck!!) and athlete correctly.
 
Who said anything about taking him seriously? He should be dragged into the street and shot on general principle.
 
That's Barkley, although it was rather funny the night Barkley tried to talk to Bibby about championships.

Barkley is clearly an a-hole, but he may be right. We shall see what happens. I don't think he says these things to PO Kings fans. He believes them. It is up to the Kings to make him look bad. His remark is not "that" far off the mark. Also, I am not sure we know who he thinks is the "real" fourth seed in the West. I havr to assume he is thinking Lakers. He has never any much respect for Dallas either.
 
You know, qd, I have to disagree. I think Barkley says some things that he KNOWS will get Kings fans up and talking. In fact, I'm pretty sure he revels in it.

It's not just now. He's NEVER given the Kings credit for anything they've done or seem capable of doing.

While this time his remark may not be "that" far off the mark it's just symptomatic of how little he things of our team no matter how well they're doing.

He doesn't think that. I guarantee you that. He begrudgingly accepts that they're above .500 when he rags on them being a non-factor.

Nope.

More importantly, I think he realizes deep down that he just isn't enough of a team player to be able to fit into the team we have and I think he resents it. But I'm not really a psychologist - I just play one on an Internet message board.

Until the Kings step up Barkley will continue to talk trash about the Kings. The Kings have not beaten Minn, Dallas or L.A. On top of that they lost to N.O. Every year Barkley talks about the Kings "D" and every year team the "D" let's the team down when it counts. Now I am a Webber fan but when it's crunch time Webb has yet to show that he is the man that wants the ball. I am hoping this is the year that he steps it up in the playoffs. So honestly as it stands right now, do you really think Barkley is wrong.

Just for the record, Barkley has bashed the Kings even when they were leading the Pacific Division, beating everyone in sight, etc. He bashed them when they were actually leading the WCF against the Lakers.

The Kings haven't beaten LA? Which LA are you talking about? The Lakers? If so, check your records. The Kings beat the Lakers in Staples on Nov. 26. As for Dallas and Minnesota, big whoop. We DID beat San Antonio and Phoenix, and I think both of those teams are much higher rated than those you've named.

So honestly, what do I think? I think Barkley is full of it.
