Chamique Holdsclaw Comes Clean

I wish the best for CH. I think one of the things that helps this condition is a change of scenery. Not to be selfish or anything, but I think a little California sun would do her a world of good. ;) . Not LA though. That traffic is depression enough.

I'm with you Reign, Northern CA will do Meek a world of good, purple is such a soothing color....I absolutely wish Meek well as she works to get a handle on her depression and I hope she can make it back to the WNBA. The Meek vs Meek matchup has produced some of the greatest basketball played by two individuals I have ever seen played in this league - especially the matchup I saw when I was in DC in 2003, and she by far has been one of the more gifted players in this league. But most of all I hope she gets control of her life back, whether that involves basketball or not.

Cheer up....men's and women's college basketball is just around the corner, very nice women's double header will kick off the festivities November 14th on one of the ESPN family of channels Baylor/LSU and Texas/Penn State.

Texas Tech will be playing Stanford I believe two weeks later on the Santa Clara campus, and NEW Maples Pavillion re-opens not too soon after that...and then the next thing you know, its Bowl season and baseball hot stove will be in high gear.....it's allllllll goooooooooood. I've got PLENTY of work to keep me busy between now and then so it hasn't been as bad as it has been for me at least.

I had a strong feeling that CH's problem was of a "mental illness" nature. That does not mean I think she is crazy. It sounds like her problem with depression may be clinical and not situational. That means it is physical and she has no real control over it. Other than counseling to recognize symptoms and put mechanisms in place to deal with it, there is nothing she can do except try to find the correct medication to counter the problem.

I have dealt with much depression in my life. It can be very debillitating. Some days you can't get out of bed, or put one foot in front of the other if it is serious enough.

My prayers are with CH as she and the doctor try to find the right meds to get her back to leading a normal life.

i sure hope she can return. she is my favorite player. i hope she can recover and get back to a normal life
