CarmichaelDave received a phone call from Gavin. Just talked about the conversation on KHTK. Whether you believe him or not, he's saying what I want to hear. Gavin said:

Very thankful to fans for the effort they gave

Asked Dave to pass on a thank you to the fans for all they've done

Fans were a "huge" factor in decision to stay

We love the fans

We will be active in free agency and will spend money to improve team

Will be fully cooperative in getting a new arena

Clearly the first thing the NBA league office did was hire a good PR firm for the Maloofs to coach them.

But I am still glad to hear it.

Glad they are saying it. I wish they said it two or three weeks ago, but it's a fair start.

I really hope someone bailed them out with the "matched deal". Hope Crandall was right when he said they got some bailout cash that wasn't needed to be paid back.

What else can they say! They have to say AND actually DO all the right things from now on to re-build the relationship with the fan base! Its obvious they would rather be in Anaheim but are forced back here. He can't go off because that will just pee everyone off.

They do have a LOT of making up to do.
