Carmichael Dave on the situation of the Kings

How many titles has he won? After all, isn't that the ultimate goal and barometer of true success?

So he's won a ton of regular season games -- tremendous. However, his playoff track record isn't all that stellar. Perhaps his "style" of play and coaching of his players isn't so conducive to winning when it matters most. History strongly suggests that might be the case. If an all-star player's career mirrored Karl's coaching career, he'd be criticized for not getting it done when it matters most.

Let's not pretend we're talking about Phil Jackson, Pat Riley or Grep Popovich here.

There's a big difference between difficult cards and impossible cards. None of these players you're thinking of had to go through a relocation roller coaster that lasted several years. Making matters worse, the front office was essentially on lock down and barred from making any real moves. Remember, the Kings barely stayed above the salary cap floor the entire time. They weren't spending $$ to invest in or improve their team. Then, once the new ownership took over, they've been going in reverse with dysfunction and lack of direction.

How exactly can any player be expected to rise above that? Swap DeMarcus out with any player in the league during that same time frame. Who do you think would have made this team a lot better? It's not a given that LBJ would get this team to the playoffs in the West.

With regard to your comment bolded above, I'd argue that the Kings 9-5 start was DeMarcus showing the ability to rise above. Coincidentally, the team went into the tank immediately after he went out ill. I wonder why?
And what coach out there with multiple titles is willing to come to Sac? I'm waiting. Oh and for centers I don't think you would pass on Ewing for your team either.

I don't go to other team's boards....but i just want to ask,

Are all these social media "leaks" the norm these days where social media is everywhere? Or is there more than usual involving the kings?

It just seems that either there are leaks, false leaks, or assumptions pretending to be leaks, all of which are damaging to the organization.

From my point of view it's the norm. Lots of media people or common fans pretending to know something, speculating on the tiniest bit of information, using quotes out of the context and of course interpreting any information to come out of all this mess with more blame for their personal scapegoat.
Actually there is no damage for the organisation, because these things are the norm in a sports business. As long as the people actually running the whole show stay on the same track, everything should be fine.
What's concerning for the Kings is that there is no stability under the new ownership. And if I know one thing about sport franchises it's that instability in the front office and coaching department is detrimental to success.
We will know soon enough, if the Kings have learned their lesson in that regard. In Germany there is a saying "Wichtig is auf'm Platz!" Some Kings Fans maybe want to look that up... ;)

You missed the point completely. Also, I have no idea what the Pat Ewing comment has to do with anything.

Until about 2009, Jerry didn't really play this game. But since then, he's carried some water and been a hatchet man for the organization from time to time in June / July. He's bagged on some draft prospects we could have but didn't take, players leaving town, and writers that wrote stories that said negative thing about the Kings.)

Honestly I don't care about PDA anymore. He was our GM. He is gone now. Time to move on. What really concerns me is, if Vlade and Bratz are able to make the right choices going forward. And the fact that Vlade is loved by Kings Fans makes this a great move to bring the Kings Fans back on board but it doesn't make it necessarily a great move to improve our FO competence. Time will tell. As any Kings employee I' give Vlade the benefit of the doubt.

You have to give the fans something to talk about right?
