@NbaNflMlbfan @CarmichaelDave @momoragan listen to today's show here: http://sacramento.cbslocal.com/2015/06/11/dave-deuce-and-morgan-in-the-morning-june-11-2015/…

If you haven't listened to this morning's show yet, DO IT NOW! Dave sets the record straight in a lot of regards, including things that had been alluded to but never really said outright - for obvious reasons.

I didn't make it up in time to listen to the show live, but I'm certainly glad it's available. The Kings stuff starts at around the 42:00 minute mark.

We all know there's "must see TV". Well, this podcast of this morning's Dave, Deuce and Morgan Show is ABSOLUTELY "must hear radio".

It's no secret that I am fond of Carmichael Dave and have a lot of respect for him. Today's show does nothing but strengthen those feelings.

You absolutely need to listen to this and think about what's being said. A lot of what Dave, Deuce, Morgan and the callers say is almost exactly the same as what a lot of us have been saying here. They talk about PDA, they talk about DMC, they talk about Vlade and they talk about what the Kings must do to keep #15 here.

Listen to one of the best hours (or so) of sports talk radio I've heard in a very long time. In fact, off hand I can only think of a couple of Dave's garage broadcasts that were better. ;)

We fans are, IMHO as a Kings fan, very lucky we have someone like Carmichael Dave around.

So Karl and Cousins are not communicating at all?

Great news as usual.

Not communicating YET, although that's splitting hairs at this point. I think Dave and Co. make a great point. Somebody needs to get them into a room together and broker some kind of extended dialog. I personally think Vlade is exactly the kind of person who could do it.

Hope springs eternal...

What a tangled web.

If only Vivek stood by Malone and cleared out the FO.

You have to try and fix it I suppose.

I know I'm often perceived (and probably correctly) as always trying to see the good in something, but I really feel strongly that Vivek has learned a valuable lesson about what not to do as an NBA owner. He still has more lessons to learn, but I think he can and will learn them. He's a successful businessman not because he never made mistakes but because he did make mistakes AND LEARNED FROM THEM.

Dave talked about it this morning - Vivek needs to just sit back and write the checks and let the guys who know what they're doing do what they know how to do. I'm certain Vlade made that a major point before accepting the job with the Kings.

I choose to believe that they will get it fixed just as I always chose to believe that the Kings would stay in Sacramento. :)

Getting late now for that. Been months since our season ended. Not impossible we may have repeated the same arrogant old man mistake we made with Westphal. Definitely needs an intervention. Maybe invite Cuz on in to some of the workouts to make him feel invested. Of course he's probably back in Alabama so its a long haul. Maybe draft night. Certainly summer league.

Its great that Vivek has possibly realized his past mistakes, the bad part about that is it might cost a once in a decade talent.

He's been busy with some sort of camp.

Plus, I specifically remember Karl mentioning how he spoke with Cousins almost every day or every other day during the season. I don't think there are any real communication problems between the two.

Supposidly he's in China doing some nike thing.

I hope it goes well with Karl and Cuz.....but all this crap with PDA coming up makes me miss how Malone had the players all in but in particular, how Cuz was emotionally invested in Coach Malone.

If and I hope it doesn't get to this point but If the Cuz and Karl relationship blows up and Sac moves Cuz......if I'm another team, I'm hiring Malone to get Cuz on that team.

Well i do remember GK saying the team needs to go and forget about this season or something along those lines. So hopefully everyone is just working out and trying ti improve and really making an effort to put the season behind them. If things are still on this level when training camp starts then ill be a bit worried. I just don't see a reason why GK or DMC would be so crossed with each this early.

DMC is currently overseas on a promo tour for Nike, complete with kids camps.

One other interesting take from the broadcast was the comment Dave made that had Karl not been hired, he (Dave) is positive Malone would have returned to Sacramento if Mullin and PDA were gone... this drama has more twists and turns than Lombard Street.

That would have been insane....as if its not already.

If George Karl knows he's only going to coach for another 4 or 5 years, which they implied in the radio show, and Mike Malone doesn't see a head coaching opportunity elsewhere, do you think there's a chance he might be interested in a sort of apprenticeship next to Karl? There would have to be some understanding that he's the defensive guy for now, subject to George Karl's approval of course, and he can watch and learn Karl's offensive principles and leadership style up close until Karl is ready to retire. He's already familiar with our players and they liked working with him. Practically speaking, it creates a weird kindof "who's the boss?" situation that isn't comfortable for anyone and that's why it probably doesn't happen. If I'm thinking about Cousins' relationship with the organization though, there probably isn't a single move that would do more to win his trust back than openly admitting that it was a mistake to dismiss Coach Malone and letting it be known that the organization really wants him back. I don't see Malone as the kind of person who would take well to an extended break from basketball so it's likely his path back to the head coaching chair will involve a short stint on another coach's bench somewhere.

If wishes were horses...

I'd love to see that happen but I cannot imagine how.

I'd love to see Malone back but I don't see that working. If he doesn't get a head coaching job Malone could easily get an assistant job somewhere else (back in Golden State to replace Gentry comes to mind right away) that doesn't look like him returning at a lower rung to the team that kicked him to the curb.

Moreover, we know Boogie loved Malone and seemingly Gay as well. Having him there as an assistant is almost begging for a player coup if there's every any friction with George Karl.

No, my hope was that Vivek would realize what a catastrophic mistake D'Alessandro made and can him while rehiring Malone but that would have had to happen just after the Malone firing.

Yeah, I'm sure that ship has already sailed. A public apology (or at least a private one) doesn't seem like too much to ask though. It's not something organizations typically do, but I'd recommend a public apology anyway just to show DeMarcus that we're aware we made a mistake and hopefully we'll make better decisions in the future.

I hope there's a private apology, which will mean a lot more at the real level than anything that's said publicly. Malone deserves it.
