Yes indeed -- once every 15 years they are all about matchups for one round (before the lucky matchup team is summarily dispatched anyway). The rest of the time they are all about talent.

Look at Utah and Denver. Denver's the #4 seed right now, but they only have a 50/50 shot, while Utah is in the #9 spot but is at over 87% for the playoffs. Pretty interesting.

Let's make this a REAL bet:

I say if the Kings stand pat they make the playoffs.

If I'm wrong, I'll take a 6 month ban from the site. And I think it'd be fun to do likewise if those who take the other stance take a ban if they're wrong (Get rid of all the damn pessismism on this board - at least for a few months).

I don't think you should take a 6 month ban, but if you really wanted to I'd be willing to take the bet.

And unfortunately it's not pessimism, it's realism.
