CalSTRS Building Mural

Very interesting to see that DeMarcus has already two HUGE banners, one on ARCO & the other on a building mural. I just hope he is as good as advertised and that they are putting LOTS of pressure on him early to perform right out of the gate, let's hope he can live up to the expectations.

I almost forget about this post. I'm guessing they will be announcing some sort of community project. So probably not worth getting too excited.

Yeah, but if they're just saying 'we're going to be out in the community' more, don't you think it would be a bit overkill to put up a 150ft mural and cover the entire side of a high-rise?

P.s.: for the record, I love the banners/murals...GREAT to see!

At a certain point you have to wonder what. They finally got the team turned around, have a star player to galvanize things, are returning to the promotional scene, have lowered ticket prices...at a certian point they've done their part.

No question that they have made the moves they need to make to start getting the fans back and buying tickets. The Maloofs can't and will not finance a new arena. Nor should they need to. But there still is a feeling that the future of the team here in town is in question. Provide an answer to that and it will also add a piece to the puzzle.

...And register a domain name and put up a new website there? Seems like a lot of fuss for a ticket package or community project. On the other hand, given the recent news in the Arena forum, if there's positive movement on the arena front, it's not Convergence. So what it is, I've got no clue.

Too bad the ball isn't in their court with this... IF we get a new arena, the announcement won't be from them.

The arena will start filling up after we make the playoffs. Lots of people won't pay for tickets for a sub-playoff team. Attendance collapsed the year after we missed the playoffs.

Playoffs.

They have given that assurance, and given that assurance, and Sacramento just cannot and will not get an arena deal done. And that's just not on the Maloofs at a certain point either. They started trying to get one done a decade ago. Literally. Its a ruinous situation that has darkened all skies, but there is nothing the Maloofs can do about it. This is Sacramento playing the insecure girlfriend, saying you are going to leave me, you are going to leave me, going cold and distant no matter what the guy says, and eventually it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Yeah, you are right, he is going to leave you -- BECAUSE you made it happen.

Exactly. Bad news today on the arena front...AGAIN. If people won't even buy the cheaper tickets for a team that has a likely super star and some other real talent, then the region isn't going to lose the team, they will be kicking it out the door and telling the NBA not to look back.

I think if we had a new 'home'/arena for them people would get back on board. I think with the likelyhood of them moving, people don't want to buy in and give their hearts for something that won't be here for much longer. Who knows though...WTF, I sure as hell have no clue.

Finally got a chance to see the mural and the banners at Arco. NICE WORK, MSE!!! There's a feeling in the air - a good feeling - that we're back in line for the E ticket ride.

GO KINGS!!!
