Andrew Bynum hasn't made enough progress this season to keep Lakers executives happy. Bynum has been such a disappointment, he's been made available on the trading block, two different Eastern Conference sources confirmed to me this week.

While Bynum's overall numbers are pretty good (15 ppg 8.4ppg, but he's been far too quiet most nights. Bynum has also struggled to perform along side talented teammate Pau Gasol.

A source confirmed to me this week that the Lakers have taken Bynum's name off the untouchable list and would deal him for a player that they feel will give them the best chance to win another championship this season.

Peter Vecsey tossed out Raptors star Chris Bosh's name last week. This is a longshot but I'm told told Bosh loves the idea of playing in Los Angeles.

A person in the know tossed out the idea of a blockbuster trade that would send Andrew Bynum back to his home state of New Jersey. In a multi-player deal the Lakers would end up with Brook Lopez and Devin Harris of the Nets.

Lopez is averaging 19 ppg and 9.6 rpg for the Nets this season and would give the Lakers another dominant inside presence and more toughness.

solid post up player, he put up like 20/10 on a good rate when Pau was out... Also would also JT to do what he does best...take Jumpers and Rebound..

I would love to get Bynum, if the Lakers had interest in KMart, I would work on a deal with that as a base. We could load them with talent for a run this year in exchange for Bynum and an expiring.

We definitely need an inside presence (Hawes getting blocked by James Jones pretty much is the story of our inside problems) and Bynum is definitely one way to get to that. It's all relative--who cares about concerns about effort/heart when he's physically intimidating already? I'd sack Kevin Martin for him, and maybe even a first rounder for him, since good C's are harder to come by than good swings.

Hey, I'd be all for giving up Kevin to get Bynum, but the Lakers already have a pretty good shooting guard. I don't think we have the pieces to make a deal work.

I would love to see a Lakers trade to get Bynum, the problem is that they would want a big in return. I don't see them riding Gasol and Odom as their starting front line to a championship. Especially considering their backups are Josh Powell and DJ Mbenga. I'm not sure that the Lakers would jump at the chance to add Hawes or JT either. They are trying to win this year, not build for the future.

I think that Pau Gasol trade has freaking warped the minds of people in LA (although after what Marc Gasol has done this year, was it really all that much of a steal??). Lakers won't get both Harris and Lopez for Bynum. Truth is they probably couldn't get either one by themselves for Bynum.

I'd probably entice them with Thompson or Hawes as well if they want a decent young big replacement. We really need that big. I don't think the Lakers will trade with us at all, but just a hypo scenario.

lets wait before the deadline for teams.. contending teams to get desperate or in need of offense. cleveland could be interested, win a ring now or lose james later. dallas wants to get back at the finals.
