Bruski presents another side to the story

Okay, I keep reading these things even though I tell myself I shouldn't. I do have a request...When you're talking about Harrison Barnes, could you please use HBarnes or something so I don't have an immediate heart attack thinking you guys are referring to SactownsFinest, the irrepressible Matt Barnes? :p

If he's Sactown's Finest", what does that say about Sacramento?

I think that title belongs to Ryan Anderson by Default !

It refers to a tattoo he had on his arm that he has since had covered.

"Cousins returned from his one-game suspension for berating Karl on the sidelines, a move that sources say is understood in context by those in the locker room and upper management, but disagreed with in form and also in function since Cousins has his own baggage to deal with."

WTF does this even mean? The team is as frustrating as hell and then you get this cryptic poo-poo writing that sounds like something from the local palm-reader. "Understood" but "disagreed with in form and also in function"?? How can people agree with writing that is soo vague it can be interpreted in a multitude of ways? Never mind, I guess I answered my own question. I guess you just make it up and figure that's what the writer is talking about. God, this team just frustrates the hell out me. Not only are they inept from top to bottom, you really can't get to the bottom of really what went on in the FO, with Divac, with Karl, with Vivek, with the minority owners, other than it has been total and absolute dysfunction.

As for the future, whether they get a 2-guard or not, keep Cousins or not, ship out every single player to Siberia or not, get Mr X as coach who undoubtedly will be the savior of this mess:rolleyes: or not, is a sideshow. If ownership doesn't get it's freaking act together, this team will never be good. A "house divided cannot stand," as someone very wise once said. If the Kings ownership is divided and can't form a coherent plan going forward, everything that comes out of the FO is headed for failure.

I think it means he said the right thinks (Karl not standing up for his players) but the way he said it is wrong (during the game, in front of cameras).

Some new information/updates on the Kings-Karl relationship : Earlier toay Bruski reported about a denver radio host that said the Kings tried to get Karl to resign multiple times already.
Once this year here in Denver when they were in town a few weeks ago was enough, although (the conversation) didn’t center on Boogie Cousins, it centered on Sacramento’s obvious attempt – attempts, plural — to get George to resign so they don’t have to pay him the $10 million they owe him on the remainder of his contract[...]

For a couple years it was absolute sacrilege to suggest that the Maloofs were better owners than the current group. But you know the saying - "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Honestly if I found out Joe & Gavin were somehow buying the team from Vivek I would do a happy dance. Until they went busto on the Palms, they were head and shoulders above this group in almost every possible way. Their management of "The Karl Situation" is a disgrace and it's not the first disgraceful handling of something by our ownership group. You wouldn't be seeing this bozo stuff under Ron Burkle I'll bet.

The coaching job by Karl is a disgrace. He clearly was not up for the job and has mailed it in from the start. This is the problem with guaranteed contracts. Karl screwed this franchise for the sake of one last contract. It's criminal.
No argument in terms of the coaching job. That speaks for itself. I will question the assertion that he mailed it in from the start. I have very little doubt that he thought he could do it. Not necessarily for the franchise's sake but for his own legacy. Possibly simply a case of the eyes being bigger than the stomach. He simply wasn't up to the task and probably didn't know it himself.

As far as walking away from 10 million, would you? If he knew he wasn't up to it physically or mentally then you might argue "criminal." If no deception involved ................. life goes on.

Here's the thing with the Maloofs as owners the first few years with the Kings. They didn't do anything. And that made them better than Vivek. At least in terms of the basketball side.

They didn't hire a GM - Petrie was already here. All they really did was give him money to work with and stayed out of his way.

Vivek hired his own GM and then apparently was also meddling behind the scenes.

Now on the business side Vivek has done much more than the Maloofs ever did. Better marketing, more innovation, very competent people running that side and of course an amazing new arena.

But until he gets the right structure in place and stops meddling behind the scenes, the Maloofs clearly have a better track record as owners in terms of how the team has performed.

That would be giving him the benefit of the doubt.....I think I've moved on from that a long time ago. It's understood that his health has been a big part of this but my perception of him has changed dramatically over the course of his stint. No one in their right mind would walk away from $10 mill.

I think he gave us a half effort once Cousins wasn't going to be traded during the Summer. I truly believe that.

They hired him in a panic, and won't fire him because they are cheap. Our issues go above and beyond Karl.

Amen to this.

As far as I'm concerned Vivek can sell now. I'll organize the parade.

Until then expect more of the same.

I truly believe Vivek has stepped way back. There is NO indication that he's continuing to meddle. In fact, several different sources reported that he wanted to can Karl but was convinced not to by the minority ownership.

It's my personal feeling that people are continuing to use him as a whipping post even though it seems he's learned a very difficult lesson and is now just trying to stay out of the way as far as running the team is concerned.

So the fact he has no control over the team he owns is a positive in your world?

That he allowed a horrible coaching hire and now is so irrelevant he can't even fire him?

Interesting. I'm trying to actually deflect the blame that Vlade is getting and for some reason you insist it's not Vivek.

If it's not, then it's vlade. And vlade needs to go along with Karl. And I'm dead serious about that.

If Vivek isn't making decisions, then vlade made a very unbelievably bad decision keeping Karl. And if the minority owners, who have no actual power, are actually stopping a much needed firing, then that really falls all on the owner for having no control over the organization.

No idea why you and brick keep pushing this narrative or what you or anyone gains by it.

Warm fuzzy feelings that everything is going to be ok? Is that it?

Still waiting on plans for the arco eye sore that is down the street from me. I'm sure he'll get to that once he's done counting the money he stole from the city of Sacramento.

LOL! I will take your request into consideration. It really comes down to my memory, which I admit is somewhat suspect. By the way, as I've stated before, I know Matt Barnes personally, and contrary to the image that he's created, he's a very nice person. But I understand your position.

Dude, I made a simple comment and you went total destruct. No idea why you have to be so confrontational but whatever. Have a nice day.

Just following your lead.

Actually it's pretty clear why you won't admit Vivek's role in this.

You'd have to admit the confrontational nature of this board starts at the top.

Barnes is a thug. Your done with DMC but Barnes your ok with? Your prerogative but I'm just sayin.... :)

Went to high school with Matt's brother and got to know Matt a little bit through mutual friends later in life. He's a good guy and not a thug by any means.

The crap he put up with at Del Campo and how he and his family dealt with it speaks to Matt and his family's character. A tough group for sure, but not unapproachable or thuggish.

Jonathan Abrams wrote a great piece about him and his family a couple years back if you're interested.
