Brockman needs to start

Without reviewing the film, I remember one three pointer Hawes took last night. I also recall the first play of the game in which he had great position under the basket and Beno couldn't throw a simple bounce pass to the "off" side, and instead threw a waist high past to the "on" side and it got stolen (of course). Next play down the floor Hawes flashes to under the basket and JT throws it away. Because the guards couldn't get it to him down low, he had to go about 20' out in order to receive passes. He played the point position better than Beno, throwing some beautiful passes under the basket. He wasn't a force on defense or rebounding, but he didn't get eaten alive either. He blocked a shot at the beginning of the game. There were players like Beno and Noc and Thompson who certainly had worse games out there.

If Spencer had a shaky jumper he needed to work on, or a developing hookshot, or if he hacked people too much or whatever...all of those things can be worked on. Age + experience helps.

But a lack of toughness and willingness to bang? That concerns me. I was no pro athlete, but I played into college (small college) and have known and watched many others who played for longer than that, and toughness, physicality...I am not sure how much that can be learned. Guys who have it usually had it in high school. Earlier even. Its a personality, an outlook, not a skill. Plays out like a skill though. In any contact sport that tough physical player is going to be able to accomplish things far beyond his (or her) talent level, while that skilled softie is going to be sitting on the sidelines by the time the games mean something.

So you're no tougher than when you were 21? I always thought you were a softie...:p

Lol @ all these people overreacting. Spencer and JT both had a horrible game tonight. JT got dominated on the inside against Randolph again. Both Spencer and JT were getting worked on the glass by Gay and company. And last but not least the turnovers again. We had 21 turnovers, 5 by Tyreke, 4 by Hawes, and 4 by Nocioni. That totals up to half of the team's turnovers. Maybe we should bench these players for turning it over too much?

Yeah, your right. It was a team effort. Only a few players played well. But this is lets pick on Spencer day. There's image, perception, and reallity. If all three don't come close to matching. The guys a bum..

So it's come to this? Cheap snipes at a young player because you're unhappy with how he's playing?

Wow. Just wow.

Quite frankly, I truly expect a little more from Kings fans, especially those who post here, than that.

Criticism is one thing. These snide and nasty jabs just aren't in keeping with the overall tone and style of the board, IMHO.

:(

I don't see how Spencer deserves anything more than 'nasty jabs' at him. He's been in the league long enough to be able to put together some type of good consistent play, and he hasn't. Shouldn't he deserve respect from fans? He seems like he doesn't care about the game on the court, and I'm not about to give him props for that.

As long as he keeps playing this way, I'm gonna keep throwing jabs his way, although not anymore on this forum, since there's a problem with that type of stuff here. I apologize

There's nothing easier than to criticize without offering a solution. Its not as black and white as "Spencer sucks so lets get rid of him". The majority of centers at age 27 are much different than they were at age 21.

I'm assuming that all of you know who Thomas Edison is. I was watching the Amazing Race last night and most of the contestants didn't know where Prague was

Now now, how can you expect most people to know of a small town in Nebraska? ;)

As for Brockman, like him, but he's not a center.
