This is def no surprise though. Especially since according to PDA logic, Summer League = Regular Season, we can also safely assume that D League = Regular Season (maybe even playoff basketball?). :rolleyes:

Hey, PDA said he was looking for shooters and this kid can light up in D league.
 
In any other year, I probably wouldn't blink an eye over this since we definitely need someone with outside shooting. This year, however, when we're already drifting away from anything remotely resembling defense, the fact we're thinking about bringing up someone from the Reno Bighorns kinda gives me a queasy feeling. Remember when the biggest dig on the Mavericks was they could shoot lights out but couldn't spell DEFENSE let alone play it? ... Just sayin'

When they hired arsenalt, I said the gimmicky bs was going to bleed into our team. Guess what, here come the chickens.

Nope. What is this mystical number? If it's high in college and the dleague, does that mean you are an nba player that can shoot? Must be why so many teams were hot after Brady and why jimmer has been such a superstar. Hell, that Jim les fellow is in the hall of fame too.
 
I don't know why but I kind of like that the new management is pissing people off around here. They think outside the box and in the long run I think it will be a good thing. I like that they are running an unconventional offence in Reno in order to find talent they might otherwise not. It is smart to have a plan to use your assets to your advantage. As opposed to running a garbage team that none of the players will ever see the light of the NBA, for the 10 people who show up to see the games.

I didn't even see the player before I made the comment. I'm not discussing him.

My only comment was that we need a 3 point shooter.

Quite possibly the lamest justification for the shenanigans so far. There is nothing in the system they run in Reno that is going to uncover a diamond in the rough, because it's a joke of a system that has no relevancy in the nba.

There's outside the box thinking and then there's being "innovative" without a strategy, which is what our FO is doing.

The snark stops now. We've been through enough lately without getting into a flame war over a Canadian SG who can shoot the lights out in D-League. Seriously.

This is it right here. A guy who averages 2 reb and 1 ast a game. But hey, he can shoot. We have our very own Steph Curry/Jimmer Fredette hybrid right here. Take a seat and get used to the pine Nik and Ben. Cousins and Rudy, you two take a backseat and feed the beast the ball. You guys saw what happened when Jordan took a backseat to Steve Kerr. They rolled off half a dozen championships.

We have a proven track record of success here. Vivek's daughters team, Summer League and our D-League team that's averaging 141 points a game. Which is the most exciting thing that's ever happened in basketball. I don't know if you folks have been living under a rock but it is sweeping the country, the world, the universe and at least 7 different dimensions by storm. NBA 3.0 has officially begun. Mindlessly empty your wallets and give Vivek your checking account and routing numbers for the new Arena is close. Step into the UFO and join Vivek and PDA on their journey into NBA 3.0.

And that's probably my main objection. We don't need another 2-guard right now. If we were working towards the playoffs, maybe. But we're not, remember? We're conducting science experiments. Of course, this could lead to a McCallum, McLemore, Stauskas, Heslip, Williams lineup... and even as I'm typing that I can hear Moak's voice announcing it.

Of course that's not really quite fair as far as the boards go. It's hard to get rebounds when nobody ever misses. And the dimes are perfectly understandable, too. Inbound pass, dribble over the line, dribble once more, shoot... Notice what's missing?

Not much time for passing or rebounding if you're gonna get 40 points in 24 minutes.
