I was thumbing through a NBA magazine this morning and it had BRAD MILLER Ranked #1 out of all the centers in the League....Yao was number 2 and Shaq was 6th....I think Brad is the MOST VERSITILE center in the leauge and deserves the number one ranking.....He averaged 4.7 assists last year, can shoot the J, drive to the basket and hustles more than most in the league...to bad we couldn't have signed Darius Songila cause w/ him and Brad on the floor together....also with Artest....our hustle would be top notch in the leauge...later

Look, how many centers can step back and hit the 3pt shot besides Manute Bol back in the day? There are no REAL centers in the league right now besides Shaq, Yao and Brad......Shaq is going to quit after this year and Yao is soft and gets dunked on by Shooting Guards....Brad does too, but he isn't 7 foot 6.......He is under rated and I think people flame him too much around here.....

Shaq is not going to quit. He signed a multi-year deal a few years ago. At the very least he's in the league another 2 years.

Look, I appreciate Brad, but if you compare him to Yao it's not even close. It's ludicrous.

Yao: 22.3 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.65 blocks
Miller: 15.0 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, .78 blocks

Yao even had a better postseason than Brad last year:

Yao: (at home on the couch)
Brad: 9.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, .83 blocks

Man, nbrans opening up with the zingers in this thread -- hope I haven't been wearing off on you. :p

Also, how many centers can shoot free shots like Miller? Yao shoots them pretty well however.......Shaq is on his last legs and he is a horrible free throw shooter.....all he does is knock people over and dunk the ball...that takes skill...

come on people.....don't you all think it is about time that Brad gets credit for something for a change.....his assist numbers are high for anyone in the league......almost 5 per game for a center is rediculous....too bad Vlade wasn't still there.....w/ Miller at PF and Vlade at Center.....10 assists per game is crazy for two big men....

actuallymost fans=tasy magz have brad or yao as the number 1 center, and shaq is as low as 14 in some... brad gets mad love in fansaty mags...which i dont mind cause i love brad in fantasy and reality

It's surprising to see him #1, but what can you do. I always considered him a good center but i never called him best in the league. From a fantasy basketball standpoint, i can understand why he is #1.

I could name about 4-5 centers better than him right now, but as BBall fans I am sure we all know who they are.

Brad is ranked 4-7th though.

LOL...

I definitely think Brad is up there but i dont think hes "The Best Center in the entire League".

There's a huge difference between the "BEST CENTER" and the most "VERSITILE CENTER". The most versitile possibly, but definitley not the best. He's too soft on the defensive end to be considered the best.

Oh yeah, cause that really defines a "GOOD CENTER" from a "GREAT CENTER" is being able to step back and hit the 3? HAHAHA Like we need another 3 point shooter anyways. You want a guard who can bust the 3. If a center can shoot it fine, but it really does not matter to me if our center can hit a 3 or not because he shouldn't be taking them to begin with. He should be under the board getting rebounds where centers belong imo.

actaully, we don't have that many 3pt shooters right now....Bibby chucks them up the most and the rest of our team shoots the 3 unconsistently.......Douby maybe, but we don't have Peja anymore or Hedo.......we lack three point shooters.......just saying....the topic isn't important though.....it is silly really....I digress.....

I definitely agree with you on that.

Horse puckey.

Name the magazine, if you will.

I have a hard time seeing this even as a fantasy ranking, nor do I need to be reminded about how great it is to have a center who can hit the three. If he could play interior defense and hit the three I'd be a heck of a lot more impressed.

This is fantasy stuff?

If so, I'm moving it to where it belongs - the Fantasy and Games forum.

Okay, I'm calling bulldooty on this whole post.

Nice try, dude.

We like Brad--always have. He is the best ball handler at his position and is a smart player. He has taken a lot of heat this summer and it got a little boring. Hope he has a great season!

Brad Miller isn't #1. Its ridiculous if you actually believe that.

Besides the superior numbers, its not like Yao is even that far off from Miller. His passing abilities really are similar. (miller's being better but its closer than you think) Most analysts always say how great Yao's passing is and that he is really good at finding people who cut to the basket. His rebounding is far superior. He scores a ton more with higher field goal percentage and Yao shoots something like 86 percent from the line.

The only difference might be the 3 point shooting but most people dont realize that Yao used to shoot the 3 ball in China and if you've ever seen him in pre-game, he'll drain 3 pointers like a guard. He however plays primarily on the post. If you ever watched Yao in his rookie year, he used to step out and routinely shoot jump shots but Van Gundy's offense makes him more of a post presence unlike Miller.

Brad shoots threes and makes them which will add to fantasy stats. He STILL shoots threes while most centers don't. Also he's pretty good at the line.
