Boozer to Chicago

This means the bulls know they aren't getting LeBron. After this Boozer contract, they only have about $13 mil left of cap space. No way Lebron would take this big of a pay cut. Regardless, he was staying with the Cavs anyways.

I wonder how much the Suns and Jazz are going to drop off next year. I can see the Jazz surviving but the Suns might be in for a real crapper of a season.

The Jazz still have Paul Milsap. And Deron Williams. And Jerry Sloan. Methinks the rumors of their demise may be exaggerated.

the balanace of power is quickly shifting to the eastern conference which is both good and bad news for the kings. The bad news is the l*kers will not have a very difficult time getting to the finals and the good news is the kings are getting a better shot at making their return to the post season sooner rather than later.

We're not competing against the Lakers. What we have to do to get in the playoffs (and I don't expect that to happen this season) is beat the low- and mid-level teams that we're actually better than (Clippers, Warriors, etc.) and put games away in the fourth quarter. We're still young, so that's a tall order in itself. But no one should be worried about the Lakers unless they're in town that night.

So if the balance of power is shifting to the East (or at least leveling out), that's entirely a good thing for the Kings. Makes our schedule a mite easier, and makes the path back to contention a little less treacherous. And if you want to throw the Lakers into it, if there's a true superpower in the East after the dust settles, that means that the Lakers will be hard-pressed to win the whole enchilada.

Bulls should still have enough room for maxing out Lebron. Accounting for the raises, this deal probably starts around 13 to 13.5 mill. Since the cap was announced and at like 58 (about 3 more than worst case scenario), there should be about 19 mill left. Max for Lebron starts off at less than 17 million.

Exactly.

Balance is shifting and it's great for so many years all you hear is how tough the West is and how if so so bottom half west team is 44-38 they'd be a 5th seed in the east. Now you can legit call the East 6 deep with compettition even if Bron goes to NY instead of Miami.

It's great news for the Kings though because this might be the start of the years coming where it doesn't take 50 wins to get the 8th seed again, maybe it drops down to 45-47 wins.

One more thing with Utah they still have Dwill and that homecourt advantage so they will be a playoff team for sure. How high of a seed? I don't know they are injured(Okur) and their bench is sorta thin now that Milsap has to start it will be a interesting year for sure.

Now, with Miami signing Lebron, Chicago should put it out there that they will double whatever Miami is offering to any player that Miami wants. It's not as if Miami with their salary cap situation could break their bank. I hope Miami ends up with the three supers and then the dregs of the dregs...
