Boogie hanging with DJ

well they are certainly off to the right start. Boogie will play his butt off for Dave, just like he did for Malone. I have a good feeling about it. Memphis players had nothing but good things to say about him.

Oh yes, I remember this. I think there was discussion about the position of hands, yada yada. everything under scrutiny. About the only thing I really got out of it was photo op and two guys who were going to try to put past problems behind them and try tomake it work. Not really in any way relevant to this video....... at all.

This puts a smile on my face! The coach and the franchise player don't have to be friends but they have to have mutual respect and be on the same page. We lacked that right from the very start with Boogie and Karl. From the first day there was some tension.

What this tells me is that coach Joerger and Boogie are getting off on the right foot. Again they don't have to be friends but there has to be mutual respect and understanding. They must have each other's back and go into battle for one another. Boogie and Malone had that. They would trash talk each other all they long at practice but when the game rolled around, they had each other back. Who can forget Boogie dragging coach Malone away so he doesn't get the technical.

Maybe I am jumping the gun and seeing things I want to see but there is a very different, positive vibe between the coach and the franchise player going into this off-season. I guess you find a lot more about a relationship when things get tough and you go theough a losing streak but this time last year we had real problems. This time around it just feels different. There is unity. There is familiarity amongst the coaching staff and the front office and the message seems to be consistent from top to bottom. It appears to be a case that everyone is on the same page.

Two years in a row. This time because Coach Karl was NOT fired and last season because Coach Malone WAS fired.
Miscalculation by Vlade, maybe. He wanted to establish stability with less regard towards chemistry, preferring to have the players tough it out for the remainder of the season. I understand his reasoning, but looking back and knowing the locker room situation now that Butler has talked about it, he should have fired George Karl.

I think Vlade let Karl finish out the year purely out of respect for a great coach. Might not be the logical choice, but it added a classy cherry to our garbage heap :)
Would Joerger be here right now if he had? Maybe not.

possibly. But if he had, would we now have Joerger? Another midseason firign would have been another red flag for us, maybe Corliss finishes the season as coach, we dilly dally trying to show some loyalty...

Doing it the way we did it cost us the last 30 games, but we were probably done anyway. And we've come out of it in a stronger position.

Agreed. Now think about this. If Malone was never fired, the two morons PDA and Mullin would still be running our team. Things seems to work themselves out it just takes time
