Nope.

are you like psychic?

Well, no. Not that I know of.

OMG! are you actually THE SHAREEF ABDUR-RAHIM!!!?????

Wish I made THAT type of money, so I guess that would be a no.

But I can have phone conversations with him or when he comes to town hit a place to eat or some such. That's not too difficult.

Not possible. SAR hasn't complained once about anything remotely to to do with PT or his coming off the bench. He wants to win and get to the playoffs. His fans are the ones having a hard time dealing it. Does it really matter? The team is WINNING again.

You people are freaking hilarious.

I say I don't like Brad Miller and say nothing about Reef ... someone else freaking mentions him ... and people rag on me.

You people are so duplicitous. I say I don't like the Princeton because I like traditional offenses - it's because I'm a Reef homer. I get told I don't know what the Princeton is until Bricklayer comes in and says the exact same thing I said it was and then people don't say anything. I say anything and it's immediately taken as being Reef-centric.

I say Ron's hurting the team shooting so much. I'm immediately ridiculed for being a Reef fan and told that's my line of reasoning. Yet, immediately after Ron reduces the number of shots - he becomes more efficient and we haven't lost.

It doesn't matter what I say around here - you people have your minds made up that it's only because of one thing. Regardless of whether it is backed up with analysis, facts, stats, etc ... it's disregarded as a Reef-centric statement. While on the other hand, people can just post nonsense with no thought and it's taken at face value and respected.

Maybe I brought that on myself - but I don't discount something anyone else says simply becuase they are fans of one player.

Uh, yes you do bring it on yourself.

Does this ring a bell?

Look, I know you have a favorite player, and it's SAR. I like his play and, everything elase aside, think he should be starting.

The one thing you have to realize is we are KINGS fans first and player fans second. This team is WINNING like it hasn't all season with the rotation Rick is using. SAR is getting good minutes off the bench and has not, to anyone's knowledge, complained about starting or PT. He came out and said he wnats to be part of a winning team and make the PO. With the team playing like it is right now, we'll probably do that. Can't you give it a rest and be happy for the Kings instaed of whining about SAR not starting?

This team is still in transition. I would not be surprised if KT is traded and SAR starts next year.

^ We're a joke???? you may not have brought up SAR but you sure chipped in when he was mentioned. this thread was suppsoed to be about Bonzi but as usual it was totally turned around. That's cool you're his friend or whatever but please give it a rest!

That's it, playmaker. I'm sure there's a message board out there somewhere that will appreciate your wit and infinite wisdom. Unfortunately, this just isn't it.

Peace.

You are usually ridiculed because after you say Ron's shooting too much, it usually is followed by "Reef needs more touches"

Playmaker0017- I've told you before how much I like SAR's game, but I get tired of having his stats shoved down my throat every chance you get. In your efforts to boost SAR's value, you are probably turning some people away from him. Ask yourself, would SAR want me saying all this stuff if people were getting annoyed constantly?

He can't answer. Unfortunately, just like Hedo fans and some other totally obsessive fans in the past, playmaker0017 just don't play well with others.

One of the biggest strengths around here is the vast variety of topics being discussed at any one time. Although he would argue otherwise, he made such a career of turning virtually anything into a discussion of SAR (and HIS interpretation of how SAR will act, think, etc.) that it simply became too divisive for the board.

playmaker0017 has left the building...

Perhaps we'll see him someday with his own website, www.obsessedwithSAR.com

I kinda did the same thing all year. turning everything into a get artest for peja thread but, finally it happened and the world is right now.

Anyway Bonzi is doing awesome off the bench. I mean he was 1-8 last night and we didn't even notice because of the other things he brings. Now if he had been hitting those layups Artest wouldn't have had 19 in the 4th because Monya would have been in. K-Mart, Bonzi, Artest, and Garcia are quickly becoming the best group of 2/3 players i have seen on one team and the scary thing is Bonzi just off injury Artest still getting into shape and Kmart and Garcia still learning. One or two of these 4 guys can turn around a game on any given night if not all 4 and we still have Mike and Brad to boot + KT and Shareef. As good as we are now i only see us getting better and being a team nobody wants to play going into the playoffs. woooooo damn i want shout Go Kings

I liked the dynamics with Bonzi and Artest last night, and I liked - although it looked odd - having Bonzi, Martin and Artest on the court at one time. I think Bonzi and SAR have something in common that we keep forgetting - they want to win. I applaud both of them for being the consummate team players right now and doing whatever they can to help the team. It's about getting to the playoffs right now. Who steps on the court first shouldn't matter.

and the thing is that when we disagree most posters usually argue without being insulting, its just that when playmaker is not agreed upon, thats when he/she starts to get aggressive and eventualy starts insulting other board members..

playmaker does have good arguements in some cases, but he/she took to many things too personally... particualry if he wasn't agreed upon..

well good luck to playmaker

I've watched Kenny Thomas for the last year now and I have come to the conclusion that he is NOT a mediocre ball player.

Medicore to poor starter.

The question just is is Reef any better at this point? And more importantly, is he better for US? KT is cleaning up as the garbageman right now. Nobody pays him any attention with the rest of our guys out there, and so Kenny just moves and slides and is doing the little things. Still can't stop me on defense. Still isn't any nire talented than he was two months ago. But he's getting easy hoops, hitting the glass, doing the things you'd like a roleplayer to do. And as a ROLEPLAYER, KT may well be the better player. Reef's not a roleplayer. The question just becomes can we put together a winning lineup with the non-roleplaying Reef at PF?

In my opinion, role players don't get triple doubles. Not even occasionally. Role players usually contribute in one area (e.g. Bowen - 3s, defense, Griiffin - defense, Reggie Evans - rebs), it takes someone that is pretty multifaceted to get a triple double.

I consider Kenny another one of Petrie's underrated acquisitions. In other words, he saw something from Kenny that other managers didn't see. Like Diaw in Phoenix. Kenny can board, score, and pass, and plays with hustle and grit. I'm not saying he's better than Reef, I just don't think he's dismissable as a role player.

Should add hustle to Griffin/Evans/Bowen, and jump shot to Griffin.

I think unless SAR proves he can consistently board well, he should come off the bench. He's had a bunch of good rebounding games, but also a bunch of weak ones (not including the time during the injury or a bit after the wires out). For this season, same thing, to keep the chemistry.

No, it just takes a guy having a career game. Or at least a unique one for him. Tony Delk once dropped 52 on our head too. Doesn't mean much. Kenny's been no higher than 6 in any other game this season. The 10 was a career high.

And actually "dismissable as a roleplayer" is the wrong way to look at it. As anything BUT a roleplayer, Kenny is just not good enough to be a starter for a good team. As a "complete" player, he's subpar for a starter. As a primary option, well that would be ridiculous. But as a roleplayer...now there he can be effective. Kenny has been doing two things: rebounding, and hitting open shots. He is not creating our offense, not forcing shots against attentive defense...just staying out of the way, spotting up, cutting to the hoop. Roleplayer stuff. And what we have frequently forgotten around here for some reason is just how 100% NECESSARY it is to have a roleplayer or two. You don't win without them.

Reef is a career 20ppg scorer. A former primary option for his teams. He is "better" than Kenny Thomas, and there is not a NBA coach, scout or player who would tell you otherwise. But Antoine Walker is "better" than Udonis Haslem too. Doesn't mean that he is better for the team though. SOMEBODY has to do the dirty work.
