Hope You had safe holiday.

Kings 6-7 and closer than ever to reaching .500 for the first time this season. It is going to happen tonight. Also still on course to have 8-7 record for November. Additionally no matter how much we "suck" - LA Kobes are worse. Sorry, but that always makes me smile.
NBA is pretty even these days where everyone can beat anyone. From Kings perspective it could go either way. We will know more when we hit the road
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lot's of things to look forward when it comes to the Kings. Pedja's absence woke up Mike Bibby who raised his level. Now if Pedja can continue where DFF stopped him - good things will happen. You add Bonzi's energy, effort and toughness, SAR's versitality and Brad's passing and You get a starting five that can compeate with any other five except the Pistons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is where we make a transition to things that are driving us insane. It is our bench or lack there of. It has been so bad that we "celebrate" anything we get. Hart is lost out there most of the time. Martin - You never know which one will show up. Garcia - did OK as a starter but it is easier to play with better players. Thomas - see Martin. Skinner - he went quickly from Pharaoh to Mummy. Nice to know that Mo, Bobby, Gerald & co are doing well:mad:.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yesterday I saw Ron Artest's hair cut. I think it says "true warrior" or something. He should have gone with "idiot" or "moron." - would have been much more believable and appropriate.
Rockets doing really well these days. It is a shame because I would rather see Lakers being last. They are really greatful that they played us. Who knew ?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Raptors gave us that last game but than again we kept it close. Horrible defense, no bench and as usual when the team is struggling they just need to play Kings and imediatelly they hit shots and play well. We got lucky but we sure will take anything these days. Starters played well and we prevailed. Still it was way too close. BTW not that long ago playng Zone agains Kings was suicide. Worked well for the raptors.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bobcats are a team without stars but very hungry and can surprise if not taken seriously. They are better than Knicks. Have some young talent there and will cause trouble if not taken care of early. According to previously established pattern - our bench should show up this time. My favorite match up Pedja vs. Brevin Knight;)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mike - more defense and keep up the offense
Pedja - coming back from a "career ending" injury - who knows what we will get. At least Bobcats will not play zone.
SAR - solid as usual
Bonzi - always on the edge. Hope it lasts.
Brad - tripple double is due.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bench
still sucks !!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - win tonight would give him more breathing room. Can he find the right mix.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is GW going for "Tony Delk" award ? So many "no names" which is perfect for a career night in some way. As long as the Kings win - I guess.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go Bucks !
Spurs play Lakers - we win either way

the lakers winning is never good..... lets pray that the spurs win their next 2 games, the lakers and mavs... we need the breathing room, dallas has won to many games as it is.... they almost lost to the raptors tonight, 2 point win.... sound familiar?

but hopefully the kings play well, especially the bench....

GWallace coming off Eastern Conference player of the week honors, will probably be looking to keep up his past week's performances against the Kings. Should have little trouble getting to the basket and leap-frogging the Kings' bigs.

Kareem Rush has also been shooting very well for the Bobcats, and when he shoots a high percentage, their offense is tough to handle. Okafor will be a tough match up for Reef. Sean May and KThomas will have a nice matchup of short stocky fellows off the bench.

Bobcats aren't a team to take lightly, especially when the Kings are just hoping to get back to .500. Hopefully they come out focused, Peja doesn't have to shake off too much "rust" from his week off, and the offense heats up early.

I can easily see us losing this game. The Bobcats are a very young and athletic team that plays hard every night, which is the type of team that always gives us trouble.

Some things in life are bad
They can really make you mad
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you're chewing on life's gristle
Don't grumble, give a whistle
And this'll help things turn out for the best...

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

If life seems jolly rotten
There's something you've forgotten
And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you're feeling in the dumps
Don't be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing.

And...always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the light side of life...

For life is quite absurd
And death's the final word
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin
Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow.

So always look on the bright side of death
Just before you draw your terminal breath

Life's a piece of ****
When you look at it
Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true.
You'll see it's all a show
Keep 'em laughing as you go
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.

And always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the right side of life...
(Come on guys, cheer up!)
Always look on the bright side of life...
Always look on the bright side of life...
(Worse things happen at sea, you know.)
Always look on the bright side of life...
(I mean - what have you got to lose?)
(You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing.
What have you lost? Nothing!)
Always look on the right side of life...

I believe I passed boredom a while back. Based on the mile markers, I'm well into the Danger Zone.

;)
Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go
Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone
Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive
Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Danger Zone
You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go
Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity
Highway to the Danger Zone
Gonna take you
Right into the Danger Zone
Highway to the Danger Zone

Gerald wallace will get the most improved player award if he continues his play . It is sick to see how many former kings bench players are playing great with new teams . I think PETRIE is one of top 3 gms in the league , but some of players he let go is obvious . Petrie is like bibby beane (oakland a's ) both smart gms , but sometimes they might "overthink " with certain players.

Petrie in top 3 GMs? No way, you're kidding right? The teams' GMs I consider who's in Top 3 GMs are from San Antonio, Phoenix and Cleveland. If he's any good why didn't he draft a player that solves the problem like PF or C. But I did lie it when he drafted Gerald but too bad we had to let him go.....

I'll give you the Spurs GM, and I'd add Dumars in that list, potentially at #1 for how he was able to turn around Detroit *without* the aid of help from lottery picks (although he did have some very kind assistance from Danny Ainge in that Sheed deal).

Why would the PHX GM or Cleveland GM (Danny Ferry in his first year) deserve any props at this point? Their teams haven't won anymore hardware than the Kings. Ferry doesn't even have to be that good of a GM --- he's got Lebron. Similar to the Spurs having Duncan at this point. Not hard to recruit good players to play with the best in the game. That would take me back to my point that I'd consider Dumars the best GM in the NBA right now.

Can't really blame Petrie just yet for letting any of the players go that are playing better *off the bench* of other teams. GWallace, Mo Evans, etc. off the bench wouldn't make this team a contender in my estimation. As for not addressing any of the needs of the frontcourt, by all means, blame Petrie.

OK. I'll give you San Antonio's GM, but what have Phoenix and Cleveland done except for be mediocre for years and have one superstar show up and turn around everything - for one year. That isn't a sign of a good GM. Petrie created a team out of nothing that has produced year-after-year and has the makeup that could continue that level of winning for many years to come. Is it a championship team ... maybe not, but there may not be a more sucessful GM in the league.

You CANNOT be serious.

What do you use to judge a successful GM?

Geoff Petrie was the one who brokered the deal that got Vlade Divac to come to NBA Hell. He was the one who dealt a very unhappy Mitch Richmod for Chris Webber. He spotted a kid whose name nobody could even pronounce and drafted him when nearly everyone thought he was nuts. He got the Grizzlies to give up Mike Bibby for Jason Williams. He has CONSISTENTLY found guys who simply werent' playing up to their potential and brought them to the Kings where they have really stepped up.

Last year, he was able to trade Doug Christie, which turned out to be a stroke of genius although Kings fans hated to see him go. And this year? He brought Bonzi Wells into the fold - and that seems to be working out pretty well, too.

Is he perfect? Well, of course not. No one is. But I'd certainly have to put him iamong the top GMs around...and pretty much the entire NBA agrees.

My concern is Bibby getting beat off the dribble by Knight every time in tonights game. And with Brad "slo of foot" Miller behind him Coach has a problem to try to fix. Bibby's scoring is fine but at what defensive penalty in points for the other team?

There is no quick fix. Maybe bringing in Hart sooner for some more minutes can help stop Knight.

The problem with opposing PGs getting to the middle so easily is the options it opens for the other team. Gotta find a way to stop that. Tonight!

Maybe Skinner and Hart getting some more minutes with the other 3 starters. That could be very interesting.

If the Kings lose this, it will be the saddest loss for the Kings this season. But I think tehy will win for sure!
I think the Oklahoma Hornets beating us by 26 points was the worst..

I am a fan of Okafor. I love the way he plays and he seems really humble. I also hope that Reef destroys the young man tonight. Will be a tough assignment for Reef and Brad.

the spurs GM is a genius. he always stocks players and let them sit overseas to develop. that just adds value to their franchise bc when the players do develop he has bargaining chips. i'm shocked that petrie didn't use this method when the kings didn't really need their draft picks.

Petrie has done it at least once... Peja was drafted in 1996 by the Kings. He didn't report until 1998. It's said he "opted" to play in Greece for two more years but I have to think Petrie was amicable to the idea.

The Kings AREN'T a championship team with the luxury of stocking players overseas for future use. We don't have a franchise player like Tim Duncan. Petrie has had his hands full just trying to tweak the team to find the perfect mix. The horrendous volume of injuries to key players at the worst possible moment hasn't helped, either. We've traded draft picks to try and strengthen our bargaining ability.

Sorry, but I just don't follow your logic.
