Bobby Jackson To Undergo Surgery

Monday, March 16, 2009 SACRAMENTO, CA ---- Sacramento Kings guard Bobby Jackson will undergo corrective surgery on Friday, March 20 to repair a fractured left cheekbone at UC Davis Medical Center by Dr. Craig Senders.
Jackson’s playing status for the rest of the season will be determined after the surgery.

This was all related to the infamous turnover that probably cost us the Cavs game -- Bobby got smacked in the eye (so we thought) by Hawes just before bringing the ball up the court, then threw a terrible crosscourt pass and immediately left the for the lockerroom. Turns out wasn't an eye that was hit, but his cheek, and they announced before the Wizards game that it was fractured and he did not make the flight back East.

Inadvertant elbow to the face late in the game at Washington on Sunday evening. I think it was Hawes elbow, if I remember correctly.

Edit: Oops! I meant the Cavs game on Friday night.

Bobby broke his cheekbone during the same game that Webber blew out his knee against the Mavs. Being the tough nut that he is, Bobby came back to play the later games in that series.

Bobby broke his wrist when Shaq swiped at him with his huge mittens. We did go on to win this game though.

I don't think so. He's said repeatedly he'd be willing to sign for the veteran's minimum and I think we might well bring him back to act as player/mentor next season. I certainly hope so. I do not want him to go out on an injury like this...

It would be kind of a shame, if Bobby Jackson's last season as a King were to be as pathetic as this season has been. I'd hope that Bobby could at least play next year and be with the team when they improve.
