Jackson cleared to play

By Martin McNeal -- Bee Staff Writer
Published 7:47 pm PDT Tuesday, April 19, 2005

Kings sparkplug Bobby Jackson, who has not played since Dec. 21 because of a torn left wrist ligament, was cleared today by Dr. Bob Szabo for unrestricted activity. Jackson has played in just 24 games this season and likely will not play in Wednesday night's season finale against the Phoenix Suns after not having practiced with the team. However, Jackson's clearance means Kings coach Rick Adelman will have one more option to utilize when the Kings meet the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday night at KeyArena in Game One of their first-round Western Conference playoff series.

am i the only one who fears the idea of both bobby and mobley being on the court at the same time? or are those just the pre-playoff jitters?

having Bobby back is NEVER a bad thing... gimpy, out of shape andout of practice he will NOT play much right off anyway, but having him in unie on the bench will be a good thing!

Yeah, you're the only one - so far, at least - who is in such a hurry to rain on the parade.

Geez...

Why not just be happy that Bobby is coming back instead of trying so hard to find the possible negative?

Well at least our defense will be a bit improved, even if B-Jax isn't 100 percent, he is still an upgrade over Bibby defensively.

bobbys back... i wonder how this will affect evans' playing time? because the bibby/bobby backcourt combo is deadly.... and what about house? thats 3 young players directly affected by bobbys return..... martin, house and evans... and one of them isnt even going to the playoffs......

You sure have leaped right off conclusion cliff.

The article says Bobby is cleared to play. It doesn't say he's ready to give 25-30 minutes or anything.

House was brought in because of Bobby's injury, but I'm sure he'll still see some time. Evans, too. Martin wasn't counting on being on the playoff roster anyway - he and Daniels aren't stupid.

I - for one - am just glad to see something good about our guys for a change. It's been a while...

Why not just kick back and enjoy it?

because.... until i know everything about the situation, i am going to stress out over it.... what will bobby's shot be like? will he still be fearless and attack the basket? will the halftime show at the finals suck? i just dont know....

oh well... i just hope that they beat phoenix and get win #50....

go kings....

YIPPEE! WELCOME BACK, BOBBY!
This is great. I don't expect BJax will play a lot of minutes, but it sure is nice to have something positive. I think Bobby in uni, ready to play, will just add some fire. And it's got to help to help this team's morale some.

:D :p  :D

I am sorry miss jackson

Hopefully Bobbys' intensity will be contagious. Part of me want this year to just end. Let's get rid of Mobley, Ostertag, and Williamson. 2 of the 3 play way too selfishly and the other is just plain out of shape. Bibby should not be made to carry the team. I do like what I am seeing from Kevin Martin though and if he hits the weight bench this summer I think the leagues should be in for a surprise.

That's great news! I think Adelman is smart enough not to rely 30 minutes a game on a guy who's hardly played the last couple of years. He knows House and Evans have earned their playoff minutes. This just gives us one more option when we're struggling to get something going, one more guy for the other team to worry about and prepare for.

It's like Christmas all over again! Or maybe Christmas has been on hold since Dec. 21st and now it's finally here. Some good news for once. I love it. Two more to go.

That article said he wouldn't play on Wednesday......why the Hell not!!! This game is useless and it would be worth it to at least get him out on the court, especially against a running team like Phoenix.

I agree...at least for a couple of minutes. Even if Adelman doesn't plan on using Bobby for his normal amount of minutes in the playoffs, it would be nice to see him shake off a little bit of rust.

It's a mystery why Adelman wouldn't play Bobby tonight. Who cares if he hasn't practiced yet? Tonight is going to be a glorified scrimmage, anyway, although it wouldn't be a colossal surprise for Rick to play his starters about 40 minutes apiece. I think everyone would agree that any game action would be good for Bobby before the playoffs start. Plus, it's not like the team deserved a day off yesterday. After the game in Utah (unles they were trying to lose), the coach should have had them on the court running until they puked.

Also, don't expect to see a ton of Mo Evans in the playoffs. Adelman doesn't like playing young guys much, based on what happened with Darius last postseason. Now that Bobby's back, Mo will likely be the odd man out.

i i know some people seems to think that bobby's coming back may disrupt the flow of the team now, but i am just really glad to hear the good news.
it's always so great to see his passion out there, his dedication and how much he fights for the team is contagious, i agree, lasvegaskings, and i am just really excited to see him again.,

go bobby

He may be out of practice, but out of shape? Could he still not run/bike with a wrist injury?
