Sucks don't it.

Bill Simmons(a sports writer for ESPN + the internet) did an incredible job at the beginning of the summer documenting the absolutely horrendous luck the Clippers have in general, with special mention for their big men. If the trend of the last 30 years or so hold up, Griffin is going to be injury prone for the rest of his career.

Tyreke will win Rookie of the Year the same way, Durant won it a few years ago. Top pick (Oden) gets hurt and wins by default. I know Griffin isnt out for the year but i feel like he could potentially miss enough time for Tyreke to get a lot more looks. I just hope Tyreke can stay healthy....GO KINGS!!! TDOS has less than 24 hours of life left!!

Tyreke Evans Rookie of the Year! Griffen's out

Blake Griffen has a broken kneecap.... OUCH! man does that sound painful...
but on the good side of this is more reason to get excited about our own Tyreke Evans winning ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!

maybe Tyreke winning will muster up enough excitement to sell out all the games this year and save the Kings from leaving town!!!

thats grimey man... i was looking forward to watching blake play this season... now i have to wait and once he gets back he'll be out of shape and out of rhythm.

Not that there isn't a bit of opportunity for schadenfreude as far as the Clippers are concerned, but isn't enough enough? Can't we just three ghosts to visit Donald Sterling this Christmas Eve and end this charade?

My friends sister just recovered from a broken knee cap... runs in her family. She plays hs varsity ball, is in great shape, and the physical therapy and rehab with a trainer took 14 weeks. I'm know every injury is different, and Griffin will have top notch doctors and trainers working with him, but i can't see him rehabing the knee back to basketball shape in under 6-8 weeks. And that would be after it healed. I feel sorry for the guy, and I think this just cost him at least half his rookie year.

exactly... thats messed up. just like when oden got hurt and missed his entire rookie season.

No one is immune to The Clipper.

Personaly I'm saddened by this. I'm a huge Griffin fan and I'm going to miss seeing him play. I hope he recovers sooner than the projections. As much as I would love Evans to win ROY, I would rather him win it straight out and not by default. But more than that, having followed Griffin all through college, I couldn't wait to see him at the next level. I wish him a quick recovery...The Clippers I don't care about.. I do like Eric Gordon though..:)

clippers will get john wall next year then... another top lottery pick for them...

i doubt he will have his usual explosiveness after recovery... he might go shaun livingston on those knees if he pushes it this year..

just a bad situation for the clips right now.... so who will play the 4 for them? De andre?

durant won it and the next year they left

Aw..man. You said what I was thinking. Hope it doesn't come to that. A promising young star could give leverage and incentive for the Maloofs to move out of Sac.

What sucks even more is that I just overpaid to draft Griffin in my Fantasy NBA auction hoping he would become a superstar. Now I have an albatross on my roster sucking up salary cap. I know exactly how the Clippers feel.

At least I got Tyreke signed for a few years. Go Kings!!

I don't know exactly why, but I saw injury-prone written all over Griffin. I don't think this is a fluke. Maybe it's his all out play, maybe his muscular, but not fluid body type. I don't know what it is, but I think he's going to have a lot of these over his career.

He's a workout freak. I think he needs to scale it back some or do some running in the pool where he won't be putting all that pressure on his joints.

this does give tyreke a good chance at winning ROY.. but.. this isnt going to be a default win. there are plenty of other very good rookies in this years class and i think alot of people are going to be surprised.

of course i still think Tyreke is the best rook of this draft.;)

Some of you will just never learn. Talking about Tyreke as potential ROY is akin to making a voodoo doll of him and breaking off all its limbs...

Yes, I'm superstitious and deathly afraid of jinxing things. Look at the track record of the Kings and perhaps you'll remember just WHY there have been so many rumors of the Kings being cursed.

Indeed, much like Karl Malone and Charles Oakley.

Build and bieng a workout freak have little to do with injury proneness. If anything it should help as long as you haven't roided up past your body's specs. You can be big and be an all time great ironman like Karl Malone. You can be lanky and be a glassman like Camby. Or an ironman like KG. You just never know.

Well, I talked about it the day we drafted him. I still say he will be the best player in the draft. So there!:D

And you've got to admit, even if you're not saying it, you're thinking it, hoping it, and praying for it. So why not scream it from the mountain tops - HE WILL BE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!!!!!:D

Thinking it, hoping it and praying for it are totally different, in the very complicated world of VF21 superstitious activities, than celebrating one player's injury as a door opening to another player's potential for success in achieving it.

You know?

;)

Griffin appears to have played very well in preseason but he's in a real numbers crunch--the Clippers have the deepest frontcourt in the league, and while hype alone might have justified him rookie of the year I think he needs minutes. Missing six weeks now (approximately 20 games), and with the subsequent initial reduced minutes, that might limit his chances of the award.

Reke has a real opening with us, being able to sop up minutes at both guard positions and, particularly at PG, Beno's getting at everyone's bad graces and Sergio (although really talented as a passer) is still a bit of an unknown, so Reke might get most of his chances there. I see him as a stat stuffer this season--rebounds, 3-4 assists a game, lots of turnovers, 41-44% shooting percentage/poor 3-pt shooting/ability to get to the line, and many steals. With that opening and with his multidimensional game, he has a real shot at this.
