Bitter Beer Face Brad

I thought when Vlade left, all the whining, complaining and crying went away.

Guess not ... it's getting old ... it's gonna catch-up with our King's ... and it's pathetic.

I'd get mad to if almost every time down I got baned around with no foul being called, and on the other end if you tapped a player on a shoulder they'd call a foul.

I don't see the foul.

You can't assume there should be a foul when you got blocked or miss a layup. That's what some of our players always thinking. Stop whining and play.

Just take a look of Elton Brand. You think he doesn't got hammered in the plant? I just never see him arguing.

I try to make a point of not bashing any players (of the Kings that is)… but I have to admit – these little tantrums are really starting to irritate the heck out of me. Granted… it’s an emotional game, and we like it that way… but this is just poor sportsmanship. I like Brad, but he really needs to check himself, or RA needs to do the checking for him.

Miller is getting banged around in there, and as usual does not get the foul calls. What he has not figured out is that all the long faces and temper tantrums will not get him the respect of the refs (and therefor the calls). Make a comment (without anger) and then get on with the game. Then maybe the refs will pay attention.

I think that's exactly right... and what we're seeing right now. The refs are seeing him get banged around, but they've chosen to blow him off. He has to learn that he has to give respect to get it.

Whatever He's Doing ....

It's not working and it's affecting his game. ZERO CONFIDENCE - He gets the pass around the foul line and doesn't even look to shoot. A couple times he was wide-open, didn't even look to the basket ... looks to pass ... if nothing is there, he drives and loses the ball.

He's gotta get out of this funk ....

I didn't see the game, all I had to go by was the PBP thread, but it sounds like Brad finally used his anger and agression to get two HUGE offensive rebounds, 1 a putback, and the other an assist to C-Webb. I've been a Brad fan ever since he was in Chicago, and I've noticed he's about 50/50 with how he uses his anger. Half the time he uses that anger and steps up his game and agression, and half the time it takes him completely out of the game. This seemed like the latter until the final few minutes.

it does get quite tiresome....but thats his personality there is no way he is going to be able to stop it...maybe control it...but thats about it...sometimes he makes me want to go threw the tv and slap him on his head

obviously im a huge Brad homer but i REALLY did NOT appreciate the things that the Clippers commentators were saying about him (on LP it was the Clipper feed) i was talking alot of junk to them...that really got me heated

but...

games over and Kings got the win...what more could you ask for <--don't answer that..hehe

and i still heartBrad

That is His M.O.

Even in his radio/tv interview he's kinda mono-tone. I get a sense he checks his humorous side at the door.

He's gotta find a way to deal with the Ref's !!! He almost took the King's out of this game, but he came thru in the end.

its adelmans responsibillity to control his players... how many times have you seen brad miss a layup, think he was fouled, and then immediatley foul the opposing teams player...or worse yet, get a technical... happens quit a bit, especially since brad got that gash on his leg...

but this is the coaches job to control his player... the moment he sees brad lose control, he should pull him aside and lecture him to calm down... if he continues with this behavior, then bench him until he calms down... brad does not usually play well when mad, so he needs to be under control when he's on the court...

GO KINGS!!!

I would say that Brad was one or two rebounds from earning an "F" grade for this game. What a baby! Adelman gets a "D" in my book for continuing to play the big baby. Why didn't Adelman sit him down? Why is it that Ostertag and Songaila can play well, get rebounds and blocks, and be allowed to sit on the bench while Brad passes up open jumpers, throws himself around like a spoiled baby, and pulls technical fouls. When does a coach bench someone?

Very well said.

I would say.. I saw that happens every Kings game. It really becomes 'Brad routine', which I guess no Kings fans would like to see.

Let's see in the following games if this still happens.

i agree

I think they should try a Dennis Rodman approach when he pulls a Dennis Rodman (as i like to call it)...right after a stupid (in the heat of the moment) foul or a Tech they should sit him down immediately

it definetly does't happen every Kings game...maybe the Kings games you get to see but i really don't think it happens every game

Yeah your right.. he needs to fight thru that and make big plays when it counts... oh wait he did that this game!

I have to admit that while I love Brad, his temper IS a problem. He is a very emotional guy who hates to loose and hates it when he thinks he is getting screwed on the calls. That not only fine, its a passion you want to see in a player. BUT it's what he does with that passion that becomes problematic. Yes he takes him self out of palys beceasue he is too bussy whining to the refs. He also goes on to make stupid fouls when he is "playing mad" and yes those T's can come back to haunt the team.

Today's game against the Clips shows why it's good to have Brad on the court down the streach even when he is having a bad day (worst game I have seen him play in a Kings uni) In the final min he steals a huge board standing right between Brand and Kaman, makes a great pass to Web under the hoop, he scores a big bucket and prety well locks down on denese. Keeping Brand on the perimter and forcing Kaman out of the play. In short this is the guy you want on the court in crunch time.

So it seems the solution to Bitter Beer Face Brad will be complex. Yes the coaching staff needs to talk to him, heck maybe some sessions with a therepist is in order, Adelman needs to pull him out for a cool off. To his credit Brad seems cools off as quck as he heats up and a few min on the bench might be allit takes. Finaly his teammates need to watch him like border collies. keep him in the play when he starts running his mouth, urge him to keep his cool and get him away from the refs.

Good post^^... but it seems to me Its C-Webbs job to calm him down. They showed Chris talking to him on the sidelines and after that he was fine. Came up with some good defensive boards in crunchtime and made a huge putback at the offensive end.
