Bibby, WTH???

That's not his career high or anything, he's gotten 18 assists on three separate occasions.

It's also not him, it's us. His 3 years at Vancouver, he averaged 6.5, 8.1 and 8.4 APG. Came to Sac, and it immediately dropped to 5 APG. In his 6.5 years in Sac, he only broke 5.5 APG one year (04-05, when he got 6.8). But then he went to Atlanta last year and got 6.5 there. Not as good so far this year - 5.4 and climbing - but the trend is enough to give one pause.

It must be our breath or something.

It was our system, simple as that. Mentioned in the past that the Princeton does not like PGs -- it takes the ball out of their hands and uses them as shooters more than passers. the bigs initiate much of the offense.

Yeah while Bibby was here he had good passers like Webber, Divac, Miller and Christie hogging up all the assists as well. We didn't need Bibby to average 8+ assists to win. We just needed him to knock down his shots (which he did most of the time).

A big reason why I'm coming around to Teague as the draft pick.

Yeah but I don't see Atlanta's PF and C averaging even close to the amount of assists Webber Vlade and Miller did. There's only 1 ball to go around

I have said all along to everybody that keeps pushing this "true pg" stuff talking about setting players up. our previous roster and seems to be our current roster is not suited for that play making pg. Instead it needs another shooting option. Teague or Curry. i will take either one. Teague is the better defender and is quicker thought but, Curry damn that guy can shoot.

Actually I think our current roster could probably use a pure PG. Just because Geoff is still trying to relive his college day glory doesn't mean we are remotely a Princeton team anymore. Out teamwide assists are very low and our best passer is a 33yr old that proabbly won't be here in a month. Our best player is also a pure scorer who needs somebody else to set him up -- a good pass first PG would help both he and Thompson. Hawes is the only major Princeton piece, but as it stands today not enough to build a system around. If we had let's say an 8.5ast PG Spencer would just be a nice second passer in the lineup

I would prefer a pass first PG (Darren Collison/Patrick Mills/Ty Lawson with the Houston pick?) as it would jump start the fast break running game for the Kings. While the defense will take time to improve, the Kings could improve their winning percentage considerably if they could increase the tempo of play without turning the ball over. The defense will take time to come around, and maybe that is where the "Thabeet Gambit" would come in handy...

mills or lawson would be the players to get with houstons pick... but bibby has player swho can finish and he is required to play like a pg...

He had 15 assists tonight. I can't ever remember him doing that for the Kings. What gives?

Random fact of the day: I read in ESPN magazine today the Bibby still pays to fly his old barber from Sacramento out to Atlanta twice a month. That's why his hair is cut less these days..

...............

Not that it matters or has anything to do with the topic at hand but anyways....

:p

His hair is cut less???? What years was ESPN referring to? For most of the time Bibby was here, he had his head shaved during the season. At least, IIRC.
